Sure. If no harm was meant you should not get worked up about it as long as people are willing to accommodate you later. Within reason of course. Having said that I am definitely choosing to be offended by all the nasty sh*t Elon and Trump do to people.

They shouldn't take offense out our criticism of their religion. But I don't see a reason to offend people without a particular reason. This is essentially my same argument around trans people. You don't have to agree on leftist ideas on gender. But you can choose to be friendly and use pronouns.

Yeah... I have been pretty vocal about how stupid I thought it was that liberals treated the Biden election as somehow saving America. They ran things as "business as usual" while the GOP prepared themselves to destroy American democracy. The drive to imprison Trump over Jan 6th should have no. 1

I do believe religion should be relentlessly criticized but I would not offend religious people without particular reason. If I say misname their scriptures, then it doesn't really serve any purpose on my part. I am not highlighting a specific problem with the religion.

Shit I am trying to get a bit back to BlueSky but the character limit is infuriating once I had gotten used to Notes on Substack. I stayed on Twitter a long time due to all connections and inertia. But once I left I find that the tech matters a lot for my choice. Substack wins hands down.

Exactly! A constitution is really just a piece of paper unless it is believed in by the people of a country. That belief is determined by the media. Which is why a democracy lives or dies based on the state of its media.

The Nazis put up their worst camps like Auschwitz abroad (Poland). And US seems to do the same now with El-Salvador prisons. Now this isn't entirely new. There is a shameful chapter of doing this with Gitmo. This is America setting up a de-facto Gulag or concentration camp system.

And they got worked up when we hinted that Trump had fascist tendencies? Hard to see this behavior as anything other than textbook fascism. Throwing people into dystopian hell hole prisons without any legal rights. How is that democracy? The police recently let a MAGA threaten a crowd with an AR

Question is if you can afford to play by the book in America anymore. If the other side is going full steam ahead towards a fascist dictatorship can you really afford to say "Oh well, we cannot fight them by following the rules, so we are just going to let the destroy our democracy."

As a Norwegian, what is happening in the US today makes me think of our on traitor Quisling. His party NS committed treason against Norway, and so is Trump and the Republican party. You cannot treat this as Jan 6th yet again and pretend nothing happened. There is a moral hazard in ignoring treason.
041
Erik Engheim @erikengheim.bsky.social · 08/04/2025
At the same time if Republicans are put on trial and locked up in the future, you are left with a de-facto one-party state. That will lack legitimacy. So the US due to its two-party system is in a way f*cked. Doing what must be done will look real ugly and cannot be done without a heavy hand.
010
Erik Engheim @erikengheim.bsky.social · 08/04/2025
Yeah I don't know how to fix this. From my viewpoint you basically got an enemy within your ranks destroying US democracy. There is no way to come back from this treating Republicans with silk gloves. They are accomplices in a demolishing of democracy and that is just straight out treason.

Oh this is just hilarious. Anyone who is America's enemies must be celebrating now as the US does more damage to itself than Russia, Islamic terrorists, North Korea, Iran or anyone else could ever have achieved. The Manchurian candidate comrade Krasnov sure paid off for the Kremlin

I long thought Elon Musk and Trump are completely different people. Elon Musk unlike Trump has actually done innovation with his companies as oppose to merely shady deals. But increasingly it is becoming clear that while Musk is an innovator he is also a fraudster. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWwz...

Similar applies to making things like comics. I suspect you need traditional artists but they will likely using AI as an enhancer. But there is not real substitute for something having a good grasp of drawing. AI Art does not fully replace that

Erik Engheim @erikengheim.bsky.social · 12/03/2025
I absolutely do think AI tools will become part of the Hollywood production process, but I don't think actors will be gone, or 3D modeling, shooting on location and so on. Rather AI will be used for specific tasks to improve the parts of the production. I talk medium term. Long term who knows.

Erik Engheim @erikengheim.bsky.social · 12/03/2025
AI image and video creation is amazing. I would not be doing this if I didn't think it had something going. But a lot of what we do as AI Artists is not really a replacement for traditional crafts. Given lack of precision in control it is almost like creating a dream sequence of something.

After having spent a lot of time making longer AI videos, I am increasingly skeptical that Hollywood has that much to fear. It is one thing to make a shorter impressive looking demo. It is quite another thing to create something specifically towards a particular vision. Let me clarify a bit....

Science has been political ever since Galileo had to crawl before the Catholic Church for challenging their dogma. It was political when it was used to serve Nazi race science. I don’t think so. I think they just like misogynistic rapists. Reminds them too much of themselves. And the Tates did the most important thing: “sucked up to Trump relentlessly in the media” So much for family values and “Christian morals”.

Just one more piece of evidence that Trump is just straight out evil. Then again he has numerous rape accusations against him, got sentenced in a civil court for rape and his first wife testified that he raped her under oath during divorce court. She also died in a suspicious “accident” later.

Read the article. The US sent high officials to pressure Romania. I assume when a superpower comes knocking they got some leverage. Romina likely have many deals with the US they don’t want to jeopardize.

God, I am so provoked. This guys abused countless girls and swindled countless men. He trained men all over the world in how to pimp women. It is disgusting. But then again being a sex offender seems to be a requirement in the Trump cabinet. The big boss himself is after all one.

Although I don’t think people should get as fired in the US as they get. But that isn’t the lefts fault. Ironically the right complains loudly about cancel culture, but it is them pushing things like “right to work” laws that make it possible. They were fine as long as leftists got fired in the past

It was only a matter of time before Elon would betray Ukraine. Social pressure has been against him thus far. But Trump is enabling him to betray Ukraine. If you got Starlink, please consider canceling the subscription. We must stand united against Elon's oligarchy ambitions. Hit him where it hurts

Elon Musk's Grok 3 looks to be amazing but we should not pay to use it because none of his companies should be supported. Also Grok tends to push more conservative talking points. ChatGPT is better in this regard. Even Chinese DeepSeek may be better because they aren't pushing a right-wing agenda

Well absolute monarchy, not constitutional monarchy. I favor a monarch with very limited power but which can step in when a country face serious crisis as the US does now. A monarch could have spoken against Trump, and media such as FOX could not easily have lambasted a monarch for it.

I hope this will prevent a takeover similar to the 1930s. Back then while women had gained many rights such as voting they did not hold political positions. Nor did they have representation in the media. Many lacked education. Women are much stronger today. Fascist men will have a hard time.

Behinds Elon Musk's geek charms is a mobster. He has done the mobster oligarch dream: He has captured government and now uses that power to pressure other companies into doing business with him. Corporations should to the opposite. Demonstrate you do not want a business leader running government.

Giving women the voting rights and ability to be represented in politics is paying off big time. Without women Trump would have won in landslide. Some of the best leaders we had in Nordics have been women. Angela Merkel was a incredible leader for Germany. Women make a difference.

I think constitutional monarchies generally have a good track record for democracy. But it is of course important that a monarch understand their role in society. Our monarch sees themselves as servants of the people. They work for the foreign ministry in practice.

I see a great value in having a non-partisan head of state that works as a unifying force for the country. Our king was an important rallying point against the Nazis and for democracy and freedom. You can stack the courts but not royal family. erik-engheim.medium.com/why-i-am-a-m...

I am a Norwegian monarchist, and find it deeply ironic how Americans conservatives being proud of not being monarchy, essentially want Trump to be a King. Not ceremonial monarchy I support but an absolute monarchy where Trump has absolute power like kings of old. Where the king is the law.

Would it not be ironic if we got rid of Trump because his airplane crashed due to his own dismantling of air safety. I think that would be preferable to other innocent people dying in the months to come due to his reckless destruction of US air safety.

Minorities and immigrants are indeed overrepresented on crime statistics, but the far-right are overrepresented on the terror statistics, the "overthrow democratic government" statistics, mass murder statistics and more. Combatting the far-right has far higher priority than immigration challenges.
