This is one of the oldest “debates” in art, and it’s always been elitist and stupid, and makes Lucas’ point for him. As someone in the replies astutely points out, the meaningful difference between the commercial arts and the fine arts is rich people can’t launder their money with one of them.

A while back, as an exercise, I wrote a Muppet Star Wars script. (Not Muppets re-enacting SW, but a Muppet story in the SW galaxy.) Pure silliness. Some friends decided to do a live read, a fan celebration of 2 golden anniversaries. Chaotic! No rehearsal! Glitchy! One take! But fun. Here it is:

Usually, when I have to order something from Amazon up here in the sticks and it would do well to ship in a box, it comes in a bag or envelope. Today something that would’ve been fine in an envelope arrived in a box 3x larger than was necessary. It’s a smart operation. 🤷🏻‍♂️
