Me, side-eyeing the array of sports betting app ads I get: they don’t know that I play TransplanarRPG bingo. I get ANY TREAT if I win. If girls kiss. Hot woman with sword. Someone says “that’s gay” and BINGO! When I get the X for the X campaign I am going to SCREAM. They have NO HOLD ON ME. NONE.

Did me being confused change the fact that they’re a super important character who has helped thousands/millions of kids understand what being trans is like? Nope. I can separate my transness from the way other people/characters experience theirs. Because they’re not me so I don’t police them. Fin.

One of my first exposures to non-binary ness as a teen was Alex Fierro in the Magnus Chase series by Rick Riordan. They’re gender fluid and were raised as a boy. I’m agender and was raised as a girl. Having so much gender in one person was confusing to closeted me, but I tried my best to empathize.

Yes, I’ve played an entire actual play mini series of Vampire: The Masquerade. No, I don’t know what the pictures on the dice mean. I can barely read numbers and add them together as is.

I wanna be a cowboy, baby! Xainan belongs to @estelofimladris.bsky.social and @transplanarrpg.bsky.social Original art is by Crowesn. I have squinted at his art for HOURS. Worth it.

Erika leans suavely against the wall of a maroon vintage train car as Xainan Esch. They are wearing black jeans with pin tucks, a black dress shirt, an ornate black and gold belt, a black and gold embroidered haori, a gold, black and grey scarf, and a black cowboy hat with cherry blossoms tucked into the brim. They have purple skin, a face full of scars, and UV green paint at the corners of their eyes and on the sides of their nose.

I will say, I love my brain. I love my neurodivergent brain. But having to fight for yourself to be accommodated is fucking exhausting. Over and over again. Same shit, different day, and no one else will do it for you or they’ll judge you for it. It sucks.

Favourite part of making build books for cosplay competitions? Giving my dogs little cameos for their contributions to my art via demands of pets and cuddles. 10/10. LOOK AT MY BABIES

Bruin, a scruffy Yorkie smirking slightly, lays at the feet of a dress form on concrete. You can see the black fabric and gold embroidery draping down the form, and Bruin is getting much needed pets from the person taking the photo.

Bella, a small, demure, and very sassy Yorkie in a pink harness is laying in a bed with gold covers. An embroidery hoop with black fabric and gold thread sits next to her, untouched because Bella demands pets. Bruin is napping in the background.

If it’s helpful at all because I do this for my cosplays, I usually colour in my brows with a white or nude eyeliner and put the right eyeshadow colour on over top and it works like a charm!

Not to mention all of the “lost media” that has been streaming only and then taken off of platforms. There’s no trust anymore, and we’re in a recession, so people don’t buy. Or the fans say that they will buy, and the studio acts like they’re pulling their finger. I hate it here.

130

erikarose2187 @erikarose2187.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

It seems like the trust people can get from studios has shattered. They’ll say in trailers “only in theatres” and then the movie will be out on a streaming platform in 1-2months. To me, “only in theatres” means that they haven’t negotiated contracts for other distribution yet.

It’s the end of another shitty work week, dealing with the repercussions of Ontario’s terrible provincial government gutting environmental protections and firefighting budgets without Indigenous oversight. Thank goodness for unions. I’m tired. I hope Doug Ford stubs his toe every morning forever.

I was in a queer choir a while back, and being able to talk to older queer people (even just in their 30s, I was 19-21) was so healing to me as a young adult. It’s so nice to be able to talk to queer people who have families and are successful and can tell you that you’re on the right path🥹

See also: 14 people with families/commitments outside of CR that include contracts with timelines, being in production for two different tv shows that they also EP/write in, and they also run the company. And Darrington Press. And charity. And cons/live shows. Not just friends playing DnD anymore.

I will say, as a non-binary person who was raised as a woman, womanhood is the most heartbreaking and fulfilling ex I have ever had. There is so much joy in being trans. People don’t talk about the grief as much. It’s been hard but very worth it. If you feel like this, know you’re not the only one.
