It is exactly that. They were supposed to test before they started but didn’t until after they started the work.

I’m just hoping that I don’t have to discard a lifetime of textiles with emotional significance ☹️

Omg I feel this every time I read an article about Trump.

My party is canceled tomorrow: the contractors who were supposed to check for asbestos *before * they opened our walls checked *after*. Hilarity has not ensued.

Don’t even get me started on this, I could go off on this topic for about 10 hours straight.

Ok, it’s that time again, you know the time when you all go outside but I hate going outside so I’m not at any of those fun summer markets you all love so I try to entice you to look at your screen for a few minutes in order to snag a good deal on some ceramics and comics. www.erikarier.com

As an alternative comics creator this is also true of comics/zine/art book scenes as well. Men rarely stop to look at my books at events because it’s just “girl stuff”.

I did recently have the battery replaced in my iPhone and I’ll say it was super easy and only cost $89 and my phone feels like it’s brand new now.

My fall class schedule is moving fast! 1 class is sold out & others are down to one spot. My goal w/teaching is to keep things fresh so I’m working on designing a 2 year class cycle. I’m so excited to spend time w/you in my studio making so many ceramic goodies. www.erikarier.com?category=Cla...

Ok, that makes it even more terrifying.

The close up of those claws just made me even more scared of bears. How can an animal be so cute and so terrifying at the same time.

Sat outside in the hot sun this morning gold lustering a bunch of ring dishes to bring to @iconconference.bsky.social Roadshow on Thursday in Baltimore. The lamp is not coming along for the trip but did help to fill up my kiln.

If you’ve been wanting to take a class w/me but not in Portland this could be your chance. Take a vacation at @souwesterlodge.bsky.social in October & take a 2 day ceramic workshop w/me just down the road. Sounds like probably a perfect autumn getaway. ilwacoartworks.kilnfire.com/classes/visi...

In a summer of tight turnarounds, I’ve finished making work to bring to ICON & now I’m trying to get 12 ceramic bottles in the kiln by the end of Monday so they’re ready to glaze as soon as I get back for a cool convenience store themed show I’m part of here in Portland. Here’s my life 7 days a week:

It is on my list to make more of these later this summer!

I love making ceramic libraries filled w/ceramic books. Coming up w/the book titles is my favorite part. In this set: How to Tell When You are the Problem, Stories You Don’t Want to Hear but Need to Listen To, Stop Licking Boots, & Don’t Tread on that Guy Because He’ll Get the Sads. bit.ly/4ydMOMr

In 10 days I’m doing my first public speaking in front of a very large group of people at a conference. To hype myself up I’ve been making videos where I talk at a camera which is not comfortable for me but is good practice. Here’s a video of me encouraging you to go do something you suck at too
