Got my @takiudon.bsky.social SuperStation One founders edition today. The hardware feels really nice and the box is very cool, now just need a few hours to start playing with it!

Holy cow it’s been 9 years since @awscloud.bsky.social us-east-2 came into existence. I still believe it should have been named us-central-1

Tutu finally got to get on Rocky’s body! 🥹 it won’t be long and they will be napping in the floor together. #bunny #labrador

And lastly, this is the insert after you unfold the ad.

First up, we have to show off just how thick these were. I remember them being big, but they are even heavier than I remember

The spine of 2 computer shopper magazines from 1991. Also a pair of sunglasses for reference since the are taller than the sunglasses

The older I get, the more I look back fondly on my early days of computers. Today I got 2 almost pristine copies of Computer Shopper off eBay, and I’m downright giddy tonight flipping through the pages. Let’s explore some together:

Rocky is tired of all this rain, but also it’s Sunday so might as well nap on a pillow.

I had an Intergraph TD-3 dual pentium machine at my first IT job at an engineering firm. In fact, I still use an Intergraph keyboard (with integrated speakers) to this day and I even purchased 5 of the keyboards just so I would hopefully have enough to last me until I retire from IT! 😀

Just Tutu and Rocky hanging out in the family room. Tutu is fascinated with Rocky, but unfortunately Rocky isn’t much of a snuggler.

Testing a little video of Tutu our Lionhead bunny. She starts out eating some food from her foraging mat, then takes off for the camera and boops it.

Tutu came to visit me today in my office. First time she has made it this far down the hall, but I think she was missing Rocky. She usually thinks the hardwood is lava, so this is her being super brave!

Tutu doesn’t want mom to pick her up, so she runs to see if Rocky can save her. 😂

Got tired of cleaning off the back steps at my house, and picked up these heattrak.com mats to use. Wow, they work really well!

I think my wife may be a bit obsessed with the bunny. It has a custom bed and pillow with her name on it and a teepee to relax in (so far, Tutu refuses to use them). 😂

Funny how far AWS and my cloud knowledge has come in 13 years!

History box from Facebook showing 13 years ago where I say "Amazon's EC2 is both interesting and frustrating at the same time." with follow up comments from my friend asking why, where I respond "Well, its odd things. For instance, they don't support LVM on the EBS disk. I can add a second disk and do LVM all day long. Other oddball things, but I have to admit I like being able to spool up a fairly light SLES11 box with almost instantly."

We recently adopted a new foster bunny we’ve named Tutu. It’s taken her a while to warm up to us, but now she’s really starting to warm up to all of us, including Rocky! #bunny #labrador

Back and somewhat rested from #reinvent, although I’m still dealing with sinus issues. Next time I’m snorting saline every 30mins to see if that helps. On a personal note, we have welcomed a new bunny to our home. Name is still being decided, but she’s a 2-3yo rescue lion head.

Thankfully the snots/congestion I have is nothing serious, I presume it was just super dry air that bothered me. Still great advice from @lizthegrey.com on using these new testing devices.

Going back to re:Invent after a few years away, I had forgotten how much fun the hallway tracks can be, but the highlight was spending time in person with the amazing @duckbillgroup.com team! @mikejulian.com @quinnypig.com @petecheslock.com and April are so much fun!

Finally got my desk setup completed for a while. I was getting irritated by having the Elgato Prompter on all the time, so I got this new usb3 hub with distinct power buttons so I can control all of my accessories directly.
