Eyes will be initially made from buckram, but a friend is going to try and UV print on vinyl mesh for me. Ventilation for this con will be a 40mm fan. In the future I plan on trying to sneak air intakes on the eye cups. The identical eye shot attached is the eye cup in all black.

Highly recommend as it’s cheap, adjustable and very comfy! Like wearing a ball cap. Eye cups were modeled using the same mesh as the head itself. 2.5mm thick with two colors. No color changing printer, just old fashioned pause and swap.

The head base is TPU printed. No walls with gyroidal infill. Flexible and a little breathable. The two halves are glued together with e600 and zip tied at a few points. As a change from my last head, this one is using a replacement hard hat suspension. This is simply zip tied in convenient places.

It’s coming up on the 4th anniversary of posting the first chapter of what became The Bird House. I know it sounds cliche, but taking that step actually changed the trajectory of my life for the better in so many ways. I don’t know what yet, but I’d like to do something to celebrate that.

Oh hey, I can share this now. For a discord secret Santa event, I tried my hand at making a plushie. I used a pattern from Etsy and quickly learned how difficult sewing a little thing is. Hair didn’t turn out great, but otherwise happy with the result!

Here’s something I don’t think I’ve shown before, it’s the original concept cover for The Bird House. I tried purposefully to give it a rough, semi blurry look. I decided to use an actual image of a red tail instead. It looks silly, but there’s something about it that kept me from deleting it.
