IF, as Trump and Hegseth say, the Memorandum of Undesrstanding is a treaty, then to be effective it must be ratified in a national referendum. The problem is that the powers and procedure for doing this are vague in the dictatorship's 1972 constitution.

eat a lot of chicken and many of my neighbors raise them. I could use them to improve my farm's soil. But I don't want to protect them from dogs and cats, don't wanty to add feeding them to my chores, don't want to kill or clean them.

I wonder about the lineages of some of Panama's dogs. In Colombia, the Fino hound (left) is considered an indigenous Colombian breed. It has those cool hound dog ears. But in Panama, there are these -- sort of -- similar dogs with different ears, as on the right. Ancient cousins?

Tick season. Biologist in the house may correct mu crude understanding. It seems that ticks are kind of omnivorous. They will suck the juices out of certain plants when the sap's running. But otherwise they suck animal blood. The dog's, the cat's or yours or mine.
