I stopped following Pere Ubu when the rhythm section of Scott Krause and Tony Maimone left in the early 90s but damn that band was great for so many albums and when we got to see them live in what was already their second incarnation c.87/88 it was life changing

Z-Bo, Tony, and Lorenzen Wright are pretty much heroes in Memphis forever. Of course we love Mike Conley and Marc Gasol (and Hubie and J-Will) but those three can do no wrong. RIP Lorenzen. Long live Tony Allen. ALL HEART. GRIT.GRIND. First Team All-Defense.

I think almost every day about how the scientific data suggests that before leaded gasoline was banned in the US in 1996, the latent levels of lead in every person in the US had burdens high enough to cause cognitive effects and long term cognitive decline. Every single person 30 years or older.

Just started last week, very much like Goner Bulletin Board... posts for bands, shows, cities and shooting the shit. I think they quickly realized that the software wasn't up to the task and they are re-doing it now... at totalpunkrecords.com

I read a ton of history so it gets frustrating when I read people claiming that this is the worst of times. Yeah things aren’t good but that’s average for the world. What’s also average is the people fight back to make for a better world & mostly succeed. scottsoriano.substack.com/p/just-ask-m...

Trying to work the Bluesky into my routine. If the Total Punk board takes off I might never come around here. Is Bluesky working for ya? Should we start up a Goner Discord Channel? What is too much social media?

Was a major coup to get Jim to MC! He was pretty clueless as to what he was supposed to do... but put him onstage and he's gold. He was great.

Accompanied Ms Andria Lisle to have drinks in the Peabody lobby with Stanley Booth & Dick Waterman. Looked at photos, drank drinks. Was a lovely time. Love Stanley Booth's writing. Sad to hear he passed.
