Skipped the Super Bowl to make a batch of beer and welcome it into the world by drinking a bottle that I’ve kept around for… a while.

This is my favorite received-gift for a long time. My girlfriend’s mom is a ceramic artist. She collaborated with another artist to make this raven mug for Christmas (I have an affinity for ravens…) and it’s wonderful! Morning coffee warms me in two ways now. #ceramics #ravens #coffee

Hi all! Here’s a couple pics from the hike up Crazy Peak last Saturday. The Crazies are a cool Island range in Central Montana and Crazy Peak is the high point. Climbing from the western shoulder leads you along a sharp ridge with views way out into the valleys and prairies on all sides.

A person (me) and a dog (Ida) are on a rocky mountain summit. Surrounding them are rugged mountain peaks under a clear blue sky.

My friend and my dog descend a steep mountain ridge that extends off into the distance. The distant horizon holds more mountains under a blue sky.

It’s the first day of the spring semester, but for #MountainMonday , a few pics from a great day skiing last week… #mountains #skiing #backcountry

A skier in the middle distance climbs up an open snowy meadow towards the crest of a hill. The trees on the hill are crusted with snow and frost, shining white in the afternoon sunshine. There are some reddish colored rocks emerging from the snow towards the crest of the hill. The sky is a deep blue.

Happy New Year! I was lucky enough to kick 2024 to the curb in a fire lookout. We kept the little stove stoked to keep warm against the howling wind and snow, and in the morning—wonder!
