Its a bit tatty because we use it alot 😂. You can substitute dairy cream for the Oat Cream but honestly we find the Oat Cream nicer here.

Remembering today my Great Uncle Private Edgar Wood, 15th Battalion Welsh Regiment who was killed in action on this day in 1918. He is buried at Villers-Outreaux. He was 20 years old. We will remember them 🌺

Same here but you’ve got some nice plants there. My garden is rapidly transitioning to autumn with berries everywhere now. Left to right - Rudbeckia, Pyracantha berries, Colchicum and I can’t remember the last one 🙄

Sword Beach Memorial today, Luc sur Mer, by day and by night

Apart from being on Sword Beach, my favourite attraction at Luc sur Mer is La Baleine. This male washed up at Lagrune in 1885 and after being moved around the area it ended up here in 1938. This and the arch at Whitby were in my head when I read The Whalebone Theatre by Joanna Quinn.

On holiday in Pembrokeshire and in Pelcomb, close to where I am staying, is this small memorial stone. Pte Thomas Collins, 2nd Battalion, 24th Foot enlisted in 1877 at age 16 (claiming to be 22). He is thought to be the youngest defender of Rorke’s Drift at age 17. (Apols for photo quality)
