#1 of 2026 The Midnight Library by Matt Haig At midnight, you enter a library that contains an infinite amount of books, each book a different life in another reality - the life you could have lived if you just made different choices. Nora Seed has to figure out the story she wants. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book cover for The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. A night sky background with an open roof library (think opened McDonald's happy meal box but taller). There is a white cat silhouette walking towards the library. The words "one library" and "infinite lives" appear in yellow gold writing, one on each side of the library.

#41 (Last of 2025 Books) Bloom by Delilah S. Dawson Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. An interesting sapphic horror, with a good sick ending. Probably would have enjoyed it a little more without the "I thought I was straight" or the general comparisons. I get it, Ash was intoxicating but... no. ⭐️⭐️

#40 Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera. Lucy can't remember the night her best friend was murdered, but the whole town thinks it was her. But was it? Podcaster Ben is on the case to find an answer. Really neat "podcast" aspect to this book. 🙂‍↕️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5)

#39 Don't Let Him In by Lisa Jewell. He's the perfect man, who tells all the perfect lies. Three women connected to one man and the truth always comes out, right? Don't let him in, shut the door in his face because he sucks. I hated him but that's what kept me hoping for his demise. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3)

#38 Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab. Three stories that all came from the same soil. Toxic (some of it was 🤌🏼) sapphic vampire story, but I do wish we got more than just mostly Sabine. I really wanted more from Lottie. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (can't decide between 3.75 and 4)

#37 Not Quite Dead Yet by Holly Jackson Attacked in her own home, Jet has seven days to solve her own murder. That's all you get, because it's just got so much going on - possibly a little too much! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5 out of 5)

#36 The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst (Book 1 of 3) Dynamic duo of a librarian and her sentient plant flee from revolution to an old but new home - will anyone remember Keila and her family, though they haven't lived there for years? Magic, baking, and friends galore. Cute and cozy! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

#35 The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett (Book 1 of 3) A genetically modified assistant and blindfolded lead investigator must find a way to solve multiple murders all while their world is threatened by leviathans. An interesting combination of fantasy and mystery. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

#34 A Sorceress Comes to Call by T. Kingfisher Evil mother, dark magic, choices to make or choices are made for Cordelia and she has no choice. What's a girl to do to overcome it all? Who can she rely on? Good read, would check out more from this author. 🙂‍↕️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.75 out of 5)

#33 Alchemy and a Cup of Tea by Rebecca Thorne. Radical alchemists, in this Queendom? Hometown overrun by tourists and driving your friends crazy? What the hells. Kianthe and Reyna will figure it all out, and all will be well.. right? It's cozy, it's sapphic and it's great. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.25 out of 5)

#32 The Lotus Empire by Tasha Suri One word: Wow. I can't summarize anything of this because it'd be so spoilie, but this conclusion came with so much intensity, heartbreak, and love. A truly fantastic ending to this series, but book two was my favorite. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5 out of 5)

#31 The Oleander Sword by Tasha Suri A prophecy has been spoken. Malini (princess) and Priya ("maidservent") must remove the dictator emperor from the throne and work to cleanse the rot that has plagued the land, and its people. No matter the costs. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.75 out of 5)

29th book of the year. The Bones Beneath My Skin by TJ Klune. Aliens are a bit different than what I normally read but this was a great read. Artemis Darth Vader must be protected at all costs, and her found family will do whatever it takes to do so. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

28th book of the year. Fury of the Gods by John Gwynne. Epic battles, true revenge, big character moments. Wow. Everything I wanted for the ending of this trilogy (except for the heartbreak). I LOVE ALL OF JOHN GWYNNE'S BOOKS SO MUCH. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5 out of 5)

The cover for "The Fury of the Gods" by John Gwynne. A massive snake crashing through a mountain and towering over one lone ship in the blue-green sea.

27th book of the year. Fairy Tale by Stephen King. An old man, a teenage boy, and a dog (the goodest girl, Radar) form a bond that leads to an adventure that really just follows fairytales. It was a bit slow in some parts but it was overall enjoyable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The cover for "Fairy Tale" by Stephen King. A blue toned background with brick all around. A boy and his dog walk down a staircase in a well. The boy is holding a lit lantern.
