I am home. My bloody clothes are in the wash. The cat has had his treats. Souvenirs of an absurd day: a glove with a phone number written on it because no one could find paper; my initial hospital bracelet identifying me as Matamoras Doezzz.

Crews were on site at Promontory Point by sunrise on Thursday. I would not be surprised to find that these stretches have fresh asphalt by tonight. #chilft #bikechi

South of Promontory Point, a lot of new yellow paint and some white paint has been applied to refresh markings. They didn't really sweep or clean the surface first so we'll see how long it lasts.

As of this evening, there are multiple short stretches where the pavement is ground off and tar has been put down, from 4600 S to 5600 S on the #chilft especially at the Point. The patches are loosely barricaded and it is possible to go around as long as you can handle grass.

Nearly 4 hours after the crash and the van is still there. I'm assuming this means an investigation, which probably means a fatality or severe injury. There's a cop car parked on the other side of it and traffic is flowing in alternating directions.
