Making CPUs that can only work for running a specific version of an LLM got to be the bubbliest move yet. Like even if "AI is the future" was true, it would mean that "the current version of ChatGPT is the future". Remember how you're supposedly just one update away from AGI or whatever?

It's so painful when the shipping cost is twice as much as the total cost of the actual products in the order... Like sure, the total cost isn't a lot and I actually expected to pay more (I didn't realize how cheap the actual product was). But still... It feels so wrong

I guess it's a bit like, if a language has pronouns for gender, then it would be nice to have non-binary pronouns for my particular non-binary gender would be nice, if I had the option. If a language just doesn't have gendered pronouns then it wouldn't matter, but yeah...

Okay, Godot is behaving weirdly and it scares me. It keeps changing the name of the main node in my "overworld" scene into the name of some other node in the scene tree. Right now it's named "Rival" (and I was just working on the "Rival" node. Moments ago it's name was "Cutscenes"

Thinking about it, probably my main reason for sticking with standard gender neutral pronouns is because, well, it's good enough. And I don't need to explain it. (And I don't know any cool pronouns that works in Sweden anyway). Bu in theory going by something less common would feel very gender

I only fairly recently learned (from a video) that apparently "programming" is not synonymous with "coding" and if you say you are doing the former you better know what you're talking about or people will tell you to know your place. According to that video at least. And some other video titles.

I really need to get better at documenting what I'm doing with my code. At the very least I should try and write more useful comments. Not doing so repeatedly comes back to bite me. But I've always struggled with things like taking notes and writing to-do lists and such. It's hard.

Another game that arguably shapes me is the one I'm working on right now, since I'm learning a lot through this project. Discovering that I can make my own game is pretty huge! I don't think this counts for the "games that shapes me" though, since it's not about experiencing it as a game

Most annoying things to debug are those bugs that happen just often enough that you need to fix them, but seldom enough that you can't seem to reproduce them. A bug that happens all the time is way better.

Current programming struggle: How to make it so that navigating the menus in game using directional keys (d-pad, arrow keys etcetera) works in a sensible manner. Like I press right, I should select the inventory slot to the right of the currently selected slot. Stuff like that.

Was wondering why the autosave kept adding a few seconds of playtime every time I opened our game. Then I remember that since the autosaving occurs every time a new scene is loaded in, which happens every time a save file is loaded, if I keep loading the autosave it's playtime slowly increases

I think it's interesting how the English language has way more words than Swedish, yet there are some very specific words that there seem to be no English equivalent for. For example, I don't believe English has a word for "actively staying silent/not speaking"?

Got the new monitor set up. First impression is, this definitely feels higher quality than the old one. Stand feels more robust, with more options to adjust for ergonomics (or to turn it 180 degrees if you want it that way for whatever reason) and the menus are way easier to use.

If I went by the USian convention, I'd be Dutch-Swedish. I have no ties to the Netherlands whatsoever, but my ancestors emigrated from there generations ago. Although... They did migrate to Denmark, not Sweden. So what would that make me? 🤔
