Going to the campus rec center’s hot tub with friends is how I stayed sane throughout college. I miss the late nights chilling at the tub trying to ignore the stress of upcoming due dates, though I don’t miss the stress lolz

It’s quite the shame it hasn’t blown up fast but this movie will be very word of mouth marketed because it’s a new IP and it’s animated. It’s only been out for 2 days, so spread the word if you liked it and hopefully it’ll pick up as word spreads thru the week

If you want this to change you have to actually call your reps, protest these laws, and vote against the laws and reps who want to make them. Discord doesn’t have a choice in this matter, especially when states like Utah are saying to comply you have to enable age verification globally.

Cancelling your nitro won’t do anything. Switching platforms won’t do anything. These laws will continue to be enforced on platforms until we fight them on their turf by contacting reps, protesting, and voting against it.

I don’t think that fandoms never had bullies and wackos but post covid things have definitely shifted. I think this is more a function of the shift for social medias to favor negative, argument-drawing posts that get lots of engagement, along with more people joining in during Covid to argue.

This age verification update has been in the process of being made and rolled out since last year. Gambling ads just happen to be coming out with it now. But they weren’t before, because that’s not what this system was made for. It was made to comply with age verification legislation.

That's just flat out wrong lolz. Many of the regions they operate in do force them to have age verification and it is much more of a nuisance to handle tons of variants per region than to roll out globally, especially when more regions are working to pass more laws that they'll have to comply with.

I can't blame them for this post when they clearly know we don't want it and they clearly don't want to push it but feel they have no choice because of legislation in many of the regions they operate in. If we all want this to stop we have to talk to our reps and vote.

Message your reps and vote in upcoming midterms. It's the only path forward. No amount of yelling at discord or threatening to switch platforms is going to change things. If another platform somehow does get a large userbase to move, they'll just be forced by govs to add age verification.

Discord isn't gonna reverse this update, because of pressure for them to have age verification in many of the regions they operate in. If we want this to stop we have to fight the laws that make companies like discord add age verification. It's only gonna spread from here if we let this shit slide

Everyone complaining about the discord age verification is months too late. If you wanted this not to happen you should have done something when ppl like me were sounding the alarm back when it was announced and actually fought back on the legislation forcing this.
