When was the last time you updated your backups? Exactly, do it now or regret it later!

EppsNL @epps.nl · 28/09/2026

Also a massive thumbs up to the Linux community. Migrating from Nvidia to AMD on Fedora was as simple as just swapping the card. No safe mode, third party software (DDU) or anything required. I love it when these kind of things just work; just plug and play.

Finally upgraded my ~5 year old RTX3060 12GB with a RX9070. Normally I'm not one for upgrading gear until it's broken or completely obsolete. But with the way the market is headed and my personal life changing I'd rather pay the price now than later.

I'm really torn between sticking with my RTX3060 or upgrading to a RX9060xt or RX9070. It's hard to justify the cost (1080p 144Hz, hardly play modern AAA games) but it would significantly extend the lifespan of my desktop. Not to mention pricing will only get worse the following years...

Bought the Kingdom Hearts bundle on Steam for €30 which is a steal. But man, Kingdom Hearts 1 sure has aged poorly. Little to no direction on where to go next, clunky controls ruining the platforming, a broken camera system resulting in cheap shots. But at least we can skip cutscenes now 🙏

I don't want apps or remotes on home accessories, I want physical buttons damn it! Lost the damn remote to my galaxy projector and now it's a literal paperweight.

As for GPU Screen Recorder, its new UI just screams Shadowplay which was the one thing I was missing since migrating over from Windows. Gotta capture those funny ragdolls in Team Fortress 2 you know?

Tried LocalSend and GPU Screen Recorder today. All I can say is I love all of you wonderful geeks working on open source software. LocalSend just works for sending files between devices, immediately replaced KDE Connect with it as I don't care about syncing my notifications #Fedora #Linux

Second BBQ this year, this time with me as the designated cook. Needless to say I've enjoyed my curry chicken skewers, steak and salmon on the skin. Now to deal with everything smelling like BBQ...

Tried alcohol last night for the first time since starting my meds. Shit hits so hard now it's not even funny. But good to know that 3 glasses are now enough to make me lose balance and drop my phone 🙃

Finally completed New Panty and Stocking With Garterbelt. Had to stop before as it brought back way too many memories from when I was younger. Both good and bad. Anyway, what a ride! Gotta love the intentional cliffhanger. Let's hope we don't have to wait another 10 years for the next season.

Normalise commenting on dropship scam reels. We gotta protect the tech illiterates before they severely overspend on a silly item you can buy at a quarter of the price from Ali Express.

Working on an anime convention self-care campaign reminds me of all the stupid shit I've done when I was younger. Skipping meals, not staying hydrated, refusing help when going bad thinking it would get me in trouble. Let's hope this campaign can change things around for the current generation.

Aaaaaand my DAP formatted its SD card during a firmware upgrade. Guess I'm going to have to copy a fuckton of music over again 🙃

Don't forget to make a backup of your files everyone. You may never know when your drive or entire device fails on you ❤️

Listen here you little shit, you're talking a lot of smack for a bottom within punishment distance. Have you even stopped to consider you're biting off more than you can chew? And I'm not talking about rearranging your guts, you'd only like that. Im talking breaking your Monster Hunter installation😈

To any #Plex users considering to panic buy a lifetime license before the price increases to 749.99 USD, Jellyfin is free open source software which does the exact same thing. Do yourself and your wallet a massive favour and give it a try first.

As a kid I always fantasised about making cool machines and stuff. Today I'm 3D printing molds to pour silicone in as if it's nothing. It's safe to say I made kid me proud.

The way I see it Gnome offers a distraction-free approach which shines on single monitor systems. Dock to Panel makes it better usable on multi-mon systems. KDE is more traditional and better customisable, great for multi-mon and ricing. But It was my second choice but the menu's stress me out too.

I used to daily drive Fedora back in 2011-2014, only changed back to Windows due to work and gaming. But with the current state of FOSS alternatives, Proton and selfhosted web applications the time is right to migrate. I'll make sure to try DMS in a VM some day, but for now GNOME satisfies my needs.

Last month I (mostly) migrated to Fedora after years of getting increasingly fed up with Windows 11. Things have been smooth sailing for me so far, with only Adobe CC and Fusion 360 being worth a dual boot. I really love how smooth everything has been running. epps.nl/2026/04/bye-... #Linux #Fedora

Bye Bye Windows, Hello Fedora Linux - EppsNL

For years I have found myself getting increasingly fed up with Microsoft's direction for Windows. From pushing online services such as Office 365 and OneDrive and making it increasingly more difficult...
