🔬We often hear about DNA, genes and chromosomes, but what exactly is chromatin? Chromatin is the structure that helps pack and organise our DNA inside cells. Chromatin also plays an important role in determining which genes are active and which are switched off. #Chromatin

Epigenetic signatures act like instructions, telling our cells which genes to switch on and which to keep switched off, without changing the DNA. By studying these patterns, our project aims to identify how epigenetic signatures change when SARS-CoV-2 or HIV infect the body.
