I'm working on a Cygnar Gravediggers commission for a client, and thought it was a good opportunity sculpt some themed bases to go with them. I made a few custom Insert brushes to move the job along, and I've since been making Basing Bits and other size bases from the same work.

Almost done working on the Daredevil Diorama! I made a last minute change to the exposition plate, and mounted the background into the shadowbox. Daredevil still needs paint, and Bullseye is about 50% done.

Sketching up some ideas for my next bust, and I think we have a winner here! I'm going to tie it back to my Seeker 714 Bust with some similar clothing elements, but making the whole character more obviously human. A robot cat is curled up in her hood, behind her neck for some extra Awwww factor.

I put a little more love (hah!) into my Seeker 714 Bust. I decided that round detail in his chest was going to be a display for... Something. Emotional state? What he's seeking? Maybe both.

I sketched this character years ago, maybe 2018. A few weeks ago I rediscovered it in an old Sketch book, and decided to sculpt it. Today, I started painting it. It's been so therapeutic creating something that's uniquely my own. The files are up on MyMiniFactory if you want one too :)

The original pencil sketch I found in an old sketch book - it shows a character in a hoodie, worn over a full enclosed helmet.

The successful test print of the completed sculpt.

Painting has begun! A turquoise light illuminates the bust from the lower right, while a magenta light hits the back upper left in opposition. Some comic style black lining is done.

I think Cthulhu is nearly done! I'm pretty sure this is more drybrushing and airbrushing than I've done in my entire life, on a single figure. Standing over 2 feet tall, it's also the largest piece I've ever done. I have a second of these in my store room and I'm really tempted to bust it out soon.

Some Gorilla Glue epoxy, Green Stuff, and Milliput Black later, Cthulhu's wings are affixed and blended in. The bottom bit of each wing was warped and didn't line up with the groove on the back at all, so I trimmed the last inch or so off, cut away the grooves, and sculpted in some filler detail.

This monster is on my desk today and for the next while. Sitting just over 24 inches tall, this is one of the largest projects I've ever tackled. Today I pried Cthulhu from his base and started working the wings into shape - they're a truly terrible fit but enough epoxy and Green Stuff will solve it

Today I started painting Star Princess Ares from Monsterpocalypse by Privateer Press for a client. This miniature is a cosplay-styled variant of the Ares Mothership, and it's been an absolute joy to paint. It's a shame the future of Monpoc is so clouded, but regardless, it's still a great figure 😍
