Bamboo loved playing on my desk chair and being spun (gently).

A mostly grey tabby on her right side on a dark grey office chair, waiting to be spun around.

This hardy rose has the same spirit. About 3 years ago someone stuck a single rose stem tied with red yarn into this stump filled with debris. It refused to wither and die.

A single abandoned red rose stuck in a tree stump fill with debris has grown and blooms a few times a year; it now has two flowers.

Simon thinks he’s king of the Ottoman Empire. I do nothing to disillusion him.

Thirteen years ago Bamboo came to live with me, but she departed too soon on July 23, 2021. I still miss her but I choose to commemorate this day, which was the start of almost nine years of joy and friendship.

Bamboo, a grey tabby with white socks and bib, exploring the sofa in her new home 13 years ago.

I love having these weeping beech trees outside my apartment. Every spring they change the light in my living space.

My two wards during spring break: sweet-natured and affectionate. L is Simon (he/him); R is Moody (she/fluffy).

Seen yesterday during a walk in my favourite park here in Vancouver.

What kind of crap is this? It's a sad situation that most of so-called Canadian news is owned by US hedge funds.

Calgary Herald Opinion Writer claims Doug Ford is insulting Fox New by refusing to beg for annexation. If the Herald were Canadian it would say Ford was standing up for Canadian sovereignty.

What a great idea! I saw this today on my way home from the community garden, on a street I seldom use in Vancouver’s West End.
