I spent my first 22 years of life in #Maine. Things many do not talk about when discussing Maine There is no robust healthcare infrastructure. My yearly medical care involved going to Boston, two states away. Public education is often criminally underfunded and, impacts disabled students the most.

I did some beta reading of a pre published manuscript. The author is writing a text for mental health clinicians working with LGBTQIAP+ clients. I read over sections discussing trans clients. Provided feedback on any statement that felt pathologizing or misaligned with the trans community.

The question is always "what if a kid is wrongfully transitioned" and never "what if a trans kid is denied the ability to transition and endures years of excruciating dysphoria and has to have multiple surgeries later in life to fix the issues caused by going through the wrong puberty."
