your daily reminder that ertapemen works poorly among patients w/ albumin <2.5 mg/dL albumin tightly binds ertapenem. albumin functions like a antibiotic depot, allowing once-daily dosing daily ertapenem is great for less sick *outpatients* for sick ICU pts with alb <2.5 choose meropenem #EMIMCC
