It's a small field admittedly, but Gorgo (1960) is by far the best of the British giant monster films, as much a tale of motherly love as it is a horror film and with plenty of fun trashing of beloved London landmarks. eofftvreview.wordpress.com/2026/10/08/g...

Yep, there's a mild improvement next time then we're back up to full force Hammer after that. Even the lesser ones we've got coming up are more interesting that the ones we've suffered recently!

Come on Gareth, don't mince your words, let us know what you really think of it! 😂 (I couldn't disagree with any of what you say!)

It's more of a thriller than straight horror to be honest. We could have included it at a pinch but I think we're covering enough actual horror films as it is! And it really isn't very good either...

After a week off, Hammer Time's back with a look at Lust for a Vampire including discussion of *that song*, what a repulsive creep the hero is, a guest appearance by the crew and much more besides. Get it in all the usual places (including YouTube) and www.evolutionofhorror.com/hammer

Today we look at Vampira - not Clive Donner's terrible comedy horror with David Niven as an unlikely Dracula, but rather George Moorse's dreamlike 1971 German television film featuring the first score from electronic music pioneers Tangerine Dream. eofftvreview.wordpress.com/2026/10/06/v...

Pre-Hellraiser (1987), Clive Barker had a tough time of it with the film industry. Rawhead Rex (1986) has been partly rehabilited by folk horror fans but there's less love for his first collaboration director George Pavlou, the hopeless Underworld (1985). eofftvreview.wordpress.com/2026/10/05/u...

You're an Italian producer looking to make a James Bond knock-off so what do you do? Well, hire Sean Connery's non-actor brother of course, call your film OK Connery (1967) and stuff the cast full of Bond film alumni. It goes as well as you might expect... eofftvreview.wordpress.com/2026/10/03/o...
