Ok. All of that is valid. 2 additional things - 1. watching bowling used to be a thing! (It's why we were able to get a film like "King Pin"!) and 2. I'm still floored at how places like this made bowling inaccessible through costs and everything else. Bowling!!

A family member is at the Kennedy Center tonight. It isn't as much about a building as much as it's about protecting art!

I'm going to mark 20 yrs in my career in less than 60 days. 20-year-old me would see that I hit many of the goal posts I set but be confused as all hell why my budgeting is still exactly the same except I can't afford to eat as well as I did then.

Some are suggesting you deliberately write inaccurate or confusing alt text, because they say this confuses AI scrapers that are analyzing images. The purpose of alt text is to help people who cannot see the image. Deliberately misrepresenting the image is a gross misuse of alt text. Don't do it.

I absolutely LOVE this. Christian Bale spent roughly 17 years fighting to make this happen. This week, his foster-care village opened in Palmdale, California: 12 homes built specifically to help keep siblings together when they enter foster care.

I really wish media and posts would stop softballing these stories. "raise questions". No they don't. It's not vague. It's very clear cut.

Actor Steve Buscemi is a 9/11 hero. 17 years after leaving his job at Engine 55 in Lower Manhattan for his acting career, he returned. "The next morning, I grabbed my old gear, got a lift to the site, and found a place on a bucket brigade." time.com/6095709/stev...

Check out my review of "Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma". One of the best films of 2026, Jane Schoenbrun’s "Camp Miasma" is a trippy, hilarious deconstruction of slasher horror and its long-standing relationship with sex and violence. wp.me/p8VcQ7-1jy

Think about Miss Piggy. She lost a best friend and now an ex-lover in matter of 24 hours.

photo of Tim Curry surrounded by muppets, smiling for a photo. A quote from curry is added “it didn’t go very well. It didn’t survive the shoot. She felt I wasn’t being faithful to her” it’s him discussing his ill fated affair with miss piggy

Curry. One of my favorites. From Frank N Furter to Wadsworth to Long John Silver to Pennywise to a slew of voice work, Curry has been an ever-present force of talent and entertainment. youtu.be/hr4knvNNgtU?...

I agree about it being Victor's mom. It being her also plays into the Latverian Witch costume on display at Comic Con. The different colors the costume was displayed in also suggests we may get other witches, too! Would love to sorceress Jen back at some point.

It is atrocious and things are definitely going from bad to worse in the industry, but the discourse continues. I'm optimistic about how things will look when we're on the other side of this swing.

010

Crystal @entityflux.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

As an industry, perhaps, but as a creative venue, no. I think it's going through a transition as greed of those in charge overtook investment in quality and the repercussions can no longer be ignored. Keep going, because the rough waters won't last.

#SDCC comic con: our daughter left her 3D printed black dragon in the restroom near E/Starbucks. She printed it herself and is devastated. We checked the restroom and lost and found which means someone picked it up. If you bring it to 5552 I will give you a signed comic as reward

Awesome! That's summary fits this experience, too. A few went bad, there were 3-4 empty potato skins, some were best left to start new plants, and some were good to bring in for food.

I just tried growing them in a cardboard box and it worked really well! I even overcrowded them with all the sprouted ones from the fridge. Grew way better than other methods I've tried. Used a mix of mostly the dirt from the yard and some gardening soil mixed in.

Freshly harvested yellow potatoes of various sizes on a black plate.
