I’ve been looking into it, and it seems like the campaign may have started in the Malaysian market, but it’s ultimately an international ad. The model is also a Korean K-pop artist.

Think of it like a huge game of telephone. With a company as big as Converse, you can have tons of people and different teams involved. Even if someone notices a problem and brings it up, that concern can easily get misunderstood, watered down, or lost somewhere in the chain before the ad goes live.

It’s actually easier for something like this to slip through than people think. Ads can involve tons of people across different teams and approval stages, and with that many moving parts, miscommunication or people focusing on different details can cause unintended imagery to be overlooked.

Even hypothetically, if there was intent it, one ad still shouldn’t become the main focus while much larger and more consequential racial issues are happening. It can be criticized without letting it overshadow problems that have a far greater real-world impact.

I can understand why the imagery might immediately read as a hood or a lynching scene to some people. My issue is jumping from “this looks similar” to “this was intentionally designed as KKK imagery” without evidence of that intent.

Just a little reminder: it’s okay to step away from social media and the internet every once in a while. Go outside, get some fresh air, enjoy the world around you, and literally stop to smell the flowers. Sometimes disconnecting for a bit is exactly what we need. ❤️

Entertain @entertain.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

I feel like tying the Converse ad to the KKK is a huge stretch and more coincidence than intent. It feels like people seeing what they want to see. If you want to focus on real racial issues, there are much bigger concerns out there than forcing meaning into an ad.

I rarely post on social media anymore but just a quick update: I’m still alive and still streaming a couple times a week. Working on rebuilding momentum, my mindset, and becoming consistent again. Also been slowly working on my anxiety to get back into VRC often to hang out more again.

It goes to show that CC agencies and orgs will always and forever will be a terrible choice and will show their colors in the end. Good on the girls for finally ditching theirs.

Hey guys! I am DANGEROUSLY close to 1K on Twitch. I have this Fried Potato Ramune that's been sitting in my fridge for years. Since I am potat as well, I've been saving this for when I reach it. But not only will I just drink it, but I'll do it live! As well as try it with other potato fixings! 1/2

To celebrate and count down to my birthday this year, I’m hosting a dono-streaming event called A Week of MaidTain on my channel, where I’ll be dressed as a maid from May 6th to 12th, playing games and chilling. The main event on the 11th will feature eight hours of me playing mannequin horror games
