One Last Dance didn’t just aggressively change the direction of DRIVE. Apparently, its structure is now complicated enough that the DRIVE core itself needs an upgrade. 😂 So… back to the Core. One Last Dance: 1 DRIVE Engine: 0 And yes, I did this to myself. #enterdrive

DRIVE: Silas — released DRIVE: Inmate 6382 — released Today, I’m starting work on something new. DRIVE: One Last Dance This time, it’s not about escape. It’s not about survival. It’s about a promise. #enterdrive #writing #storytelling #indiegame #narrative
A dim, clinical waiting room with cold blue lighting. A woman sits alone, slightly turned away, her face mostly in shadow. She holds a notebook where “One Last Dance” is handwritten with a small heart. Other patients sit blurred in the background beneath an AEGIS sign. The scene feels quiet, tense, and personal, like a private moment inside a controlled system.

Every DRIVE story begins with a question. What would you sacrifice to have one last dance? I’d love to hear your answer. #enterdrive #DRIVE #OneLastDance #InteractiveFiction #IndieGame
A warm amber-toned promotional artwork for DRIVE: One Last Dance. A mother and her daughter dance together in a softly lit bedroom while AEGIS Institute documents, a visitor badge, and a notebook reading “Dance with me” rest on a table in the foreground. Large typography asks, “What would you sacrifice to have one last dance?”, with the DRIVE logo and enterdrive.net at the bottom.

One question was enough to change the future of DRIVE. Sometimes the best stories are born from the ones you never finish. #enterdrive #DRIVE #IndieGame #InteractiveFiction #GameDev
A cinematic rain-soaked scene outside the AEGIS Institute at night. A lone figure stands facing the illuminated entrance while amber lights reflect across the wet pavement. On the left, a developer’s note explains how the planned story “AEGIS PROTOCOL” evolved into “ONE LAST DANCE” after a single creative question. The words “AEGIS PROTOCOL” appear in electric blue as an Easter egg, while “ONE LAST DANCE” is highlighted in warm amber, hinting at the next chapter in the DRIVE universe.

What if power-ups weren’t rewards… but irreversible damage? That single question became DRIVE. I built an entire universe around it, deleted almost everything, and started over. Only one thing survived: #Silas. #EnterDrive #IndieDev #WritingCommunity #OnePiece
What if power-ups weren’t rewards… but irreversible damage?

That’s the question that started everything.

I imagined people whose abilities came at the cost of destroying themselves.

Blood. Muscle. Skin. Bones. Brain.

The idea was heavily inspired by One Piece. I loved the concept of transformations, but I kept wondering:

What if every transformation brought you closer to your own end instead of making you stronger?

That question became the first version of DRIVE: an AI-powered prompt experience where every playthrough was different.

But something never felt right.

I loved the concept.

I didn’t love the world I’d built around it.

So I did something I never thought I’d do.

I deleted almost everything and started over.

The meaning of the Drive changed.

The universe changed.

Only one thing survived:

Silas.

Everything that exists today—from SILAS to INMATE:6382, from AEGIS to Halloran—grew from that single decision.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for an idea…

…is let its first version die.

There is nothing here. Stay as long as you like. nothinghere.app #EnterDrive #IndieDev #WebExperience #InteractiveFiction #Psychological
A dark minimalist poster with the words “NOTHING HERE” in large distressed white letters on a worn black background. Below, smaller text reads: “There is nothing here. Stay as long as you like.” The design is intentionally sparse and unsettling, evoking mystery and psychological tension.
