Had a weird dream last night that I had a kid. It just popped out one day by surprise (no pregnancy, no labor) and was toddling around like a 1 year old, and I thought 'he just got here, shouldn't he be more like a baby?' I told the doctor I didn't plan for this and wasn't interested in having kids

I can never take seriously the idea that Taylor is tarnishing her legacy as an artist by releasing a fun little song like "Cleveland!" because discourse on the internet is fickle and moves fast, so people will decide a song is her worst ever and then crash out at her creative brilliance the next day

I was thinking about what Taylor said once about writing "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." To me, the song "Cleveland!" does many things at once, and being absurd and funny and camp is a big one. I also think she deliberately wanted to make a song that would annoy certain listeners

“He made me feel like I wasn’t as good as these hipster bands he listened to…So I made a song that I knew would absolutely drive him crazy when he heard it on the radio. Not only would it hopefully be played a lot, so that he’d have to hear it, but it’s the opposite of the kind of music that he was trying to make me feel inferior to.”

When asked why she “created a single specifically designed to torment someone,” she replied, “Because that’s fun.”

Patient Zero and Pink Clouding have grown on me with each listen. It's not surprising because Taylor Swift knows how to write a pop melody that gets under your skin. Even if they're aren't discography highlights to me, they're good songs! Babylon is the standout track for me and I'm obsessed.

Babylon is such a lovely example of Taylor's "I'm going to create characters and infuse my emotions into them" style of writing: storytelling through a character with fictional details to explore intensely personal emotions and experiences
