Channeling my religious trauma here... "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve..."

True in 2023 and still is now: It's time we normalized asking for help. I was overwhelmed at work and finally said I needed help and I felt like such a failure for saying it. But that's bullshit. We all need help sometimes and it has nothing to do with your ability, competence, or worth.

Have a safe and comforting Trans Day of Remembrance everyone, and look out for one another. <3 14/14

Today, I take solace in and am reassured that we, like our siblings in the larger queer community, have always existed and will continue to do so. We cannot be stamped out; even those we lost are never truly gone. 13/14

Because despite the larger narratives, there is joy and fulfillment to be found in finding yourself, finding new members of your family, and finding community. 12/14

Through that grief we'll find solidarity, love, connection, and joy. Because even though we mourn the lost, we also celebrate their lives and the light they gave to us. 11/14

We're not there yet and hopefully, we'll never get there. But it's on our minds. So with that, we come to TDoR. On the eve of what feels like impenetrable darkness, trans people— my brothers, sisters, and siblings— across the country are going to gather together to remember those we lost. 10/14

What most people forget, however, is that they are never spontaneous and while they do not have to include mass violence, if mass violence is present it's typically one of the end steps. 9/14

If you've read any history about genocide in the last hundred years you can see similar notes being struck. While each one is unique to the culture and time it takes place in, they rhyme with one another. 8/14

Not just for ourselves but for anyone who doesn't fall into their largely white, patriarchal cis hetero bubble. It should be noted that they are not the majority of Americans or Christians, but there are more than enough of each in the US that either choose silence or remain apathetic. 4/14

Many of us are afraid for ourselves and our loved ones. Afraid of what seems to be coming. Afraid of the last 60 years of conservative Christian nationalism (Jerry Falwell, Jim Dobson, et al.) coming to fruition. 3/14

We've lost a lot of people this year, and many of us have not been spared the news that someone we know or know of has passed away/been taken from us. That number has only increased in the wake of the recent election. 2/14 #tdor #transdayofremembrance #trans #pride

So I've been trying to think about what I wanted to say about Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR) this year. Not that screaming into the void, but here goes. 1/14 #tdor #transdayofremembrance #trans #pride

The book I'm reading on Wicca has a section about brooms and their significance. Like how they can be used to clean a ritual space of bad energy, etc. Now all I want to do is write a fantasy story about a witch who cleans apartment buildings and has to contend with various magical shenanigans.

The core book suggests other variations exist, so you could totally dodge spiders since that's off the table: "Though... arachnid by default, there’s no reason yours has to be. A hive-mind colony of termites or bees would work just as well, or perhaps even... squirrels, maybe, or miniature machines"

Yeah! lol. Spiders-man came to mind immediately once I saw that bloodline in the game. Such a fun concept that I had to write up their story immediately. The game suggests that similar colonies of bees exist, and now I want to write another character that only makes Nick Cage references.

Locus (TTRPG: The Wildsea) is a sentient colony of spiders in human form— bound together with a smattering of web, bandages, and armor. They have spent most of their lives dredging the depths of the verdant sea in search of forgotten artifacts and a lost armada that went down some decades past.

It's a sobering memory. And we have lost so many since then, both in the LGBTQ+ community and to gun violence in general. But it reminds me that this is what Pride is for. To remember the lost, to celebrate each and every day, and most importantly to be seen thriving in the face of hatred.

From all the video game stuff that dropped this weekend, I am most looking forward to Blasphemous 2 and Frostpunk 2. Add that to the new Armored Core coming out and I think I'll be set on gaming for a while.
