All it took for so many people to get a divorce in 2021 was actually spending time with each other

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THEM I just cannot. And it's not even unbelievable. It's totally predictable. What phenomenal wastes of fucking oxygen these people are.

I take it back. I found a place where someone desperately needs to use GenAI.

It'd be cool if we could just, like, go to therapy and join low-stakes athletics and play games and talk to each other. But I guess we need a manly scaffolding for *gestures vaguely* just to get young men to stop being awful? It's all very weird and sad.

IMO it's a good thing to be upset about, and I hate that he's apparently the only voice worth listening to about it. Like, the male loneliness epidemic is apparently a real thing that we apparently need to over-engineer a solution for, and apparently we need to have PERSONALITIES explain it to us.

(Crudely simplistic and wildly wrong, I should have said. Some of his comments are just... ick.)

It's the weirdest pivot that ever pivoted (no pun intended). His takes on manhood have always been equal parts crudely simplistic and oddly astute - and none of them make him an expert. We need better men on this stage, but the stage isn't built to elevate the right people. And it suuuuuuucks.

And isn't it nice that cycling has created a space where you can maybe get a podium despite being slower than at least 48 other people on any given day? As an almost-last cat 5 racer (who used to be an almost-last ultrarunner, I've always had a solid giggle about the cat system.

As someone who chooses to listen to some of his stuff, you're not wrong. He adeptly slid into the griftspace, which is filled with consumers who need to hear some of the smarter things he has to say. Still, it's griftspace. And WOW this thread. It's really... it's really something.

I started referring to them as "fart-sniffers" a while ago and it feels more fitting by the day. Never before has there been a group of men so desperately enamored with the smell of each other's fetid emanations - nor a populace so unfooled by it, yet forced to be a party to it all.

I mean, you see the news about AllBirds? Even when it's obviously a big fucking scam, these people manage to profit. It's all made up at this point.

When Leo was selected, I feel like I was hearing/reading commentary from theological folks saying that having an American pope in a time when America was the strongest and most influential world power would be highly improper, and that America’s rapid decline set the stage. If so… well…. 🫠

The fact that Indivisible itself is posting photos of our Capitol while calling it "Minneapolis" forces me to assume that it's 100% intentional. Right? RIGHT??

Gamblers trying to win a bet on Polymarket are vowing to kill me if I don’t rewrite an Iran missile story
Bettors are using death threats to try to get The Times of Israel's military correspondent to change his report on a missile impact in central Israel. This is his alarming account

Anyone else notice how everything is terrible and it's because dumbasses are doing awful things on purpose? Not that losing snow days is as bad as, like, *gestures at everything* - but it's bullshit. Let these poor fucking kids have a damned day off to go play in the snow. I NEED MORE SWEARS.

Same, but also: beware thinking that total fucking randos who might be bots, farmers, or bored weirdos are anything other than total fucking randos who might be bots, farmers, or bored weirdos. The social internet is a wasteland even on a good day.

LIFE-CHANGING. The idea of someone knowing when I've read their messages makes me want to anxiety-vomit. Humans were not made for this. (At least, this one wasn't.)

Everyone in my circles knows that I regularly leave messages sit for hours because my life doesn't revolve around being on-call to people I don't see every day. Between my job, my spouse, and my very closest friends, my books are full. I just can't be beholden to more than that. I reply when I can.

lmao this is not a "workable definition" of ultra-processed foods, it's just rewording the problem www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
What even are ‘ultra-processed’ foods? Here’s a workable definition.
In a recent Nature Medicine article, Roberto and two co-authors proposed a different approach: Instead of trying to define what qualifies as ultra-processed, define what does not qualify.

Strategy: Leak false intel about how Trump is gonna swing. Let the lessers cast their bets on Polymarket for Cornyn. Thirty minutes before the announcement, an anonymous account makes a huge bet on Paxton. I hate that this is now my first reaction to news rumblings, but I guess that's America now.

These cameras are everywhere, recording everything, their evidence is unimpeachable - and yet these dudes spend real money to look this way. Like, I look like hot-buttered shit, but I get it for free! My eyebrows are normal-bad and my face is normal-blotchy! Just be normal, guys!

Every time I see a clip of something like this, I find myself wondering how many of them actually believe it. Because this is all just rank-ass bullshit that can be smelled from miles away, and if I know that, surely they do, too. Right? This is surely just a bunch of weirdos lying. Right??

Our local Super Target was the closest grocery store, and it was bonkers to watch the change. All of a sudden the bell peppers were *arranged* and took up too much space, so they got rid of tons of other stuff, like jalapenos and fresh herbs. It was like an Instagram influencer ran amok.

I was a rare late adopter of the full boycott, I'd still drop by for odds and ends over the last year. (My Amazon/Walmart boycotts are steadfast!) But that changed in January, when I watched our local faith leaders trying to get the CEO on the phone *and he hung up on them.* I was done.

Their produce got *so bad* and their selection got *so tiny* when they suddenly went to this weirdo boutique styling in the grocery section. I spent nearly a year unable to get a proper ripe tomato, and they were totally sold out of onions on more than one occasion. I stopped trying.

Target's new CEO should sit down with ex-Target shoppers in MSP to discover why we would sacrifice shopping with a homegrown company, where everyone knows at least one person who works for corporate and even more working in stores. I have thoughts! (Sincerely, someone a few miles from corporate.)

Eldest daughter, and while I may not be responsible for all the things, I’m absolutely responsible for the emotional well-being of the entire family. And yes, I sobbed my way through Luisa’s song in “Encanto” like every other eldest daughter I know. It was low-key therapy for me.

I *think* they only show up on the roster once they've been booked, so if there are issues with processing or individuals are uncooperative (or "uncooperative"....) they might not show up right away. Regardless, it's very frustrating.
