Ha! Exactly one week from today! 😅

I spent today attempting to avoid being productive by doom scrolling (which I guess is just scrolling now because the doom part is kind of a given) and trying to find out how I can get some repairs done to BG3 Dot's head. 😒 Seriously, this is how I've been trying to distract myself. It's so sad.

There's a bunch of frustrating medical stuff happening behind the scenes that isn't good. It's been taking up a lot of my time, a lot of space in my head, and a toll on my quality of life in general. The timing SUCKS. So I'm trying to balance things out by indulging in silliness. Games and stuff.

I've been a little MIA, just posting on IG when I can. I've been burnt out on social media for a while now, but the book is coming out in a week, and it's been suggested by creator friends and publishing people that I try to hang on for a little bit, at least to see what happens. It's tough, though.

Aw, thank you. 💗 I’ve been up to author stuff, and just sort of hanging around IG or gaming when I haven’t. Doctor’s orders. 🧐

Livejournal had such a cozy vibe to it. Like a bunch of people just hanging out in someone’s basement watching movies and talking about what they’ve been reading and listening to lately. Hard to replicate.

I’m here to say I miss OG Livejournal.

I'm just sitting here waiting for a sequel to Super Paper Mario, to be honest.

Remember that scene in Bull Durham when Crash is feeding Nuke clichéd answers to typical post-game interview questions that he can use when he makes it to the majors? This is very much giving that.

Thank you! 💗 DK and Templar are the two classes I've never felt super comfortable playing. Templar probably even less so than DK. 😬

Englidottir @englidottir.bsky.social · 18/02/2026

That's super generous of you! It's going to be some time before she gets there, but the promise of fancy armour might light a fire under her. Metaphorically, I mean. I'm taking her to see dragons next time she logs on.

Englidottir @englidottir.bsky.social · 18/02/2026

I tried to seduce her with noisy lasers and magic beetles, but she was having none of it.

I was hoping she’d pick Warden or Arcanist, to be honest. 🫢

So Char’s toon’s name is Ħu l-Oranġjo, which is roughly pronounced “Who la-rinch-ah”. It’s Maltese for “Have an orange”, which is something our mum says all the freaking time because oranges can fix anything. Unfortunately, ESO doesn’t allow for Maltese characters, so it’s spelled “Hu Laringa”. 🧐

It was so frustrating. I rely so hard on the minimap now.

010

Englidottir @englidottir.bsky.social · 18/02/2026

She didn’t get to do too much last night. But she was a big fan of Skyrim and likes hitting things with other things, so she was having a pretty good time swinging a giant sword around in the short time she was able to play. 😄

110

Englidottir @englidottir.bsky.social · 18/02/2026

Ha! I have to get on that. As soon as she settles on her "look". I gave her some Anequina armour to start with, but that'll likely only last her about five minutes.

I have a shocking number of scribbles I've never shared of Fennorian hurling Dot at different things like a javelin.

Englidottir @englidottir.bsky.social · 18/02/2026

Oh my gosh, she'll love that! 💗 I'm already champing at the bit for her to play again. When adulting allows her the chance, of course.

Loved him in Lonesome Dove (I'm long overdue for a rewatch, now that I'm thinking about it... 🤔). 🙌 I think the second thing I ever saw him in was True Grit. It was so strange seeing him go from gentle, quiet Boo Radley to Ned Pepper. I almost didn't realize it was the same actor.

Englidottir @englidottir.bsky.social · 17/02/2026

I could barely get anything done. I was playing through Summerset and Auridon at about the same time. Auridon was much easier without a minimap than Summerset was, but not much. 😅 I'd open up the map to see which direction I should be heading in, but I'd forget everything the second I closed it.

Englidottir @englidottir.bsky.social · 17/02/2026

Oh, gosh! That's so kind! Thank you! 😄💗

000

Englidottir @englidottir.bsky.social · 17/02/2026

Absolutely. I thought Solstice would clear some stuff up where that’s concerned, but it left me with nothing but a lot more delicious opportunities for some headcanoning.

It’s the first thing I recommend to new players. Even after so many years, I can’t play without a minimap.

Englidottir @englidottir.bsky.social · 17/02/2026

Ugh. I forgot I have to walk my sister through installing some mods. Seriously, are we ever getting a minimap? 😞
