I'm back home! I'll talk all about what else I did, in forthcoming Travel Tuesday streams. (Is the Tuesday that's 4 days from now too optimistic?)

I absolutely can believe that it's already October.

It was hard to get the right angle for this selfie, but we had a nice dinner!

Yesterday I summited Mount Sunflower, the highest point in Kansas. However, it's not an actual mountain (just a bump in the fields), and there are no sunflowers there 😭

Selfie in an open field of a man with a dark green shirt and brown hair blowing in the wind, standing in front of a station that includes weather equipment, boulders, and signs, including a metal outline of Kansas with attached text, "MT SUNFLOWER" "4039 [feet above sea level]" [i.e. 1231 m] "HIGHEST POINT IN KANSAS".

Sheeran's supposed neutrality leads to the same outcome. "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality." —Desmond Tutu

6 years ago, I posted on another site, "I can just barely lick the tip of my hair now" (because it was the first time it had ever been that long, not because I wanted to). I was in my evil blond era.

Twitch now has a setting to let YOUR content (stream, chat, ?) train generative AI, and it's on by default. Turn it off in the settings page near the bottom of the "Security and Privacy" tab. (This is on desktop. I've heard that you may need to manually update the app to get this setting there.)

We are not now and never have been free. They say, "Nobody's free until everybody's free" because freedom is meaningless when discussing an isolated individual; it's a concept about relations between people. Even if your group is safe now, the system persists.
