In this period of time filled with AI stupidity, let's celebrate those we are not celebrating enough: Art supporters, Art commissioners THANK YOU! Thanks to YOU, many artists can do what they do the best and keep being productive but most importantly Artists can LIVE!

Pro tip: you don’t have to comm artists to boost and support them. People claim they can’t support artists and creators because they are financially strapped, but they can still boost posts, comment, like, and in general just be supportive! It’s completely free outside of an internet connection ;)

Seeing fellow artists struggling with drawing and wanting to give advice without being patronising and making myself anxious in writing the reply: Impossible Friends showing progress/asking for advice 'n trying to be concise and say anything other than 'hell yeah' or go in circles: Also impossible😕

There's some sort of irony in realising I have a fear of being perceived... and then today being asked for ID for a place I go to as a regular. Something about it tickled me. At least I know I (mostly) don't look my age haha (+1 in 3 weeks too)!

Thinking about the advice "draw fanart to get an following for your original work". I never liked it. Why purposely build an audience that's not interested in the art you like to make?

My Kobold gal Thistle ready to reward someone! Art by the always amazing @emzietowers.bsky.social

A female kobold with half moon glasses on her snout, sits on a mound of treasure applying pink lipstick whilst holding a small makeup mirror. She has a sultry look.

Her dialogue is...

"Really? Of all the treasures around here, you want the lipstick? And you don't even want it in the...conventional manner? Hmmm...fine."

If artists prices seem high to you, remember that freelancers have to pay for their own healthcare and stuff and we are working on a project basis, so we have no real job security (if that is even much of a thing anymore anyway)

It's ok to fall out of love with an OC due to negative circumstances surrounding them. Each time you see them a reminder of anxiety or the people you may have distanced yourself from. Take time. Rework them. Redesign them. Or perhaps move on. Don't feel bad if you have to do the last option.
