i have other questions, but i'll wait for a human's translation of the timeline to become available. i can see how the changes help to explain YSST, but i'm sad that (at least, for me) it dismisses some of the old lore, which then diminishes the original show's deeper meaning. 😔 5/5 #サムライトルーパー

next contradiction: the translation says arago escaped with his helmet, so only 9 armors were made instead of 10. in episode 19, we see kaosu making the armors, and arago's helmet is present. there is no mention of a 10th armor or the helmet going missing. 🤔 4/5 #サムライトルーパー

screenshot from episode 19 of Yoroiden Samurai Troopers. ryo is learning the origin story of the nine armors. the scene shows a flashback of kaosu, after praying, casting arago's full armor into a bonfire so that it can be broken apart.

the narration says: "...these were made from the armor of arago."

but the show also contradicts itself about kikoutei's origin. the opening in season 2, episodes 30-39, talks about kikoutei appearing to fight evil before being resurrected in "today's" fight against (possibly) the same evil? but kaosu didn't wear kikoutei when he defeated arago. 🤔 3/5 #サムライトルーパー

screenshot from the opening narrative sequence shown before episodes 30-39 in season 2 of Yoroiden Samurai troopers. here it shows a mural depicting the kikoutei armor surrounded by the 9 other armors. the inochi no magatama (jewel of life) is on the left side of the mural while the gou retsu ken (swords of fervor). the narration says: (off screen) "...the prayers of those who wished for peace..." (on screen) "...realized a particular holy warrior."

translation says badamon fused arago with kikoutei, but in the show, arago seems surprised by it in episode 19. in episode 31, badamon tells a different story about kikoutei's origin, and arago proclaims he wants it. i thought this meant arago never possessed kikoutei before. 2/5 #サムライトルーパー

sunrise released a timeline of events for #roninwarriors #サムライトルーパー, and... i have questions. 😅 OVAs are listed! but then there's different information about the armor origins. does this override the show's own explanations? 🤔 i can't read japanese, so i'm relying on my computer to translate. 1/5

Happy Birthday, Sanada Ryo! 真田遼さんお誕生日おめでとうございます! Old art I drew for your birthday years ago. 😭 I will draw something new for you, I promise! ❤️‍🔥 #サムライトルーパー #鎧伝サムライトルーパー #鎧伝 #roninwarriors #samuraitroopers

I was hoping to make something new for sheithweek2026, but... life. 😔 Sheithweek day 1 prompt is AU, so in keeping with that theme, here's an old #sheith fancomic of a scene from a sheith AU fanfic by @papacryptid.bsky.social (link in next post), and the sketch of Keith's face without the muzzle.

A 3-panel fan comic drawn in manga style black and white with screentone grayscale effects. In panel 1, Shiro is entering a tent, carefully lifting the curtain and calling out, "Hello?" while activating the flashlight on his phone. In panel 2, various circus-related props can now be seen thanks to the phone's flashlight. In the dark background, something makes a clinking sound behind the barely visible bars of a cage. Hearing the sound, Shiro calls out, "Is someone there?". In panel 3, Shiro's flashlight illuminates the being in the cage: a naked humanoid with cat ears, tail, and stripes lies in the cage with its manacles and chains around its wrists and ankles, and wearing a muzzle. Beneath its long white hair and bangs, its expression is of confusion and fear at the intruding Shiro who exclaims, "What the fuck?!"

The underlying line drawing of panel 3 in the fancomic shows what Keith's face would've looked like without the muzzle in the way.

sorry, i meant the feed-creating apps have paid versions, like blueskyfeedcreator.com/pricing has free & paid levels. if a feed were made with the free level, then it will have limitations on the number of posts it shows. i don’t think bluesky itself has a paid version. i hope this helps clarify.

i think the feeds have a limit on how much they show. i don't remember if it's time or quantity though. it's may be because they were made using the free version of an app too. 😔

Here's some more old art, this time for #サムライトルーパー #鎧伝サムライトルーパー #鎧伝 #roninwarriors #samuraitroopers Ryo and Shuu were originally drawn for the 30th Anniversary Fanzine. I was planning on drawing the other 3 troopers, but... life got in the way. I hope to draw them, but my style's changed... orz

A colored digital illustration fan art of Ryo Sanada from Ronin Warriors / Yoroiden Samurai Troopers wearing a white button shirt with red accents and holding a rose. He's smiling shyly while teasingly pulling open his collar.

A colored digital illustration fan art of Shuu from Ronin Warriors / Yoroiden Samurai Troopers wearing a white sweater with orange accents and holding a heart-shaped box that probably has chocolates that he made in it. He's smiling confidently.

I decided I needed to inventory my Yoroiden Samurai Troopers collection. I borrowed a room so I could see it all together. This… isn’t even all of it… 😅 #鎧伝 #鎧伝サムライトルーパー #サムライトルーパー #samuraitroopers #roninwarriors

And here's the second comic page of this s7e13 coda #sheith angst. I had a lot of fun testing out effects to get the atmosphere to my liking. Unfortunately, I've yet to continue the comic. I hope to return to it one day and show Shiro rescuing Keith properly.

A 2-panel comic page. Panel 1 is large, showing Keith slumped in the pilot chair, his head tilts to the left. There's blood dripping from his forehead, nose, and mouth; his eyes are slightly open, but lifeless and unseeing. His chest armor is cracked and blood stains it. There's shards of broken glass on Keith's lap.

Panel 2 Shiro gently presses his fingers against Keith's neck, searching desperately for a pulse. "Please, please, please... Come on, Keith..." Shiro begs. There's blood trickling out of Keith's ear and he remains unresponsive.

Gonna start posting some old art bc why not. I'm a sucker for Keith whump, so here's what I imagined happened to Keith after the robeast exploded in season 7 episode 13. Originally I drew only the first panel, but then I wanted to show more. #sheith bc it's Shiro's turn to save Keith ❤️🖤

A seven-panel comic page. In panel 1 in the background, Shiro is desperately trying open the cockpit door of the Black lion as he yells: "Keith?! Keith! Can you hear me?! I'm coming! Just hang on!". In the dark foreground, Keith's hand rests on the cockpit chair's armrest; there's blood on his hand.

Panels 2 to 4 show the damage other areas of the cockpit sustained. Shiro struggles with the door outside of view, "Come on! Come on! Open!" The door creaks until it finally gives with a loud "klang". Triumphantly Shiro yells, "Yes!"

Panel 5 Shiro runs towards Keith, his floating Altean arm reaches ahead. "Keith!" he calls again.

Panel 6, Shiro reaches the side of the cockpit chair and anxiously looks towards its occupant. "Keith?" he asks nervously.

Panel 7, Shiro gasps, "No..." He's shocked at what he's found.

There aren't any labels or separation for who's talking either. More from the same episode: "Earlier used one for all. 45% Cycling through danger. Sense. Smokescreen. Blackwing. Bargain and float in rapid succession." "Oh, 100% Manchester. So now." "The court? No." The "Cheesecake" is funny tho. 😆

idk if they're ai, but there's bad cc on My Hero Academia Season 6, episode 134: "If that's the. Car, I would have been a goner." "with the help of phosgene. I caught her off guard." "Leading. How can I shake your hands me to. Sure." "Nargund." "Is that cheesecake?" And whole sentences are missing.

lastly, if the image has text that is conveying info, that text needs to be in the alt. for ex: you post a fanfic title banner, the text should be in the alt, with labels for the info, "fic title is [title], genre is [genre], word count is [number]," etc, not just the [title] [genre] [word count]

do the couple's gender, race, age, fashions, or expressions matter? or do details about the atmosphere matter more? does adding any of those details dramatically change the meaning of the image? fanart for example, should identify the show and characters depicted.

consider an image of a couple walking in a city. what's the most important thing you want understood about the pic: is it how the couple struggles to stay together in a crowded nyc-specific street, or is it important to say the couple is on a romantic date that isn't well for the man?

hi! i do web accessibility work and can offer a few tips for alt text. keep in mind that some screen readers can't rewind while announcing alt text, so it's important to keep the description succinct. think about what the most important elements are. an example i like to use is this...

if maintaining color consistency is essential to your design, i recommend (re)making this background image as an .svg. if that's not doable, try resaving it at 96ppi, and create a few different sizes that are responsive to various screen sizes.

110

emwing makes things @emwing.bsky.social · 18/03/2025

the colors are distorting due to a few different factors: the font in the bg image is thin, against a black bg, and at a setting of 72ppi. depending on your .png settings, the colors may also be changing due to file type limitations or upscaling for hi-def monitors.
