As a long-time fan of Nicola May’s writing, it’s always exciting when she has a new book released. If you didn’t know, How Do I Tell You? (Link to my review) was one of my ’25 books of the year. I inhaled the first book in this new series, Escape to Seahaven Bay (Link to my review), and have waited impatiently for this new instalment to arrive.

Today I am sharing my thoughts on The Truth About Ruby Cooper, the latest novel from Liz Nugent. I came to Liz's books really late, but loved Strange Sally Diamond, so this book was always going to be on my radar. I have the hardback, but also bought the audiobook, devoured over the course of a few walks. Here's what it's all about: Source: Owned CopyRelease Date: 12 March 2026

I can’t resist a book about books or bookshops and Debbie Johnson’s The Hopeful Hearts Bookshop sounded right up my street. And I absolutely loved it! I’m very grateful to the pub…

At her charming house in the Tuscan hills, Jen pictures the beautiful opal ring that brought her here. Will this inherited jewel finally unravel the secrets her family has been holding so close? Italy...

I consider myself fortunate to have been included in the tours for each of Anita’s books, and I can honestly say I have loved them all. I always love a dual-timeline story, and Anita’s love of history and extensive research shine through on every page. I’m already looking forward to her next book. Please take a look at my previous reviews: …

The House of Hidden Letters is the latest novel from Izzy Broom and as you might be able to guess from that beautiful cover, it's set on a Greek island Folegandros. I'm very grateful to the publishers Century Books UK/Penguin for my digital review copy from Netgalley. It is available now in paperback, digital and audiobook formats. Izzy Broom (aka Isabelle Broom) is known for her escapist novels and this novel sees not just an escape for her readers but also for her main character, Skye.

I am a huge fan of Sally Page's writing and was very excited to read her new book. Her writing is always heart-warming and uplifting and that was true for this book. My thanks to the publishers for my digital review copy from Netgalley. Six Little Words is published by Harper Collins and available now. A group of people are brought together after mysterious Shakespearean quotations start to appear on a local café notice board.

The first book I finished this year was This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page. It has such a gorgeous first line and one I whole-heartedly agree with: The right book in the hands of the right person at exactly the right moment can change their life forever. I just adored this book and the premise of Tilly receiving a book each month chosen by her late husband, Joe, was so moving.

Best Summer Ever is Heidi Swain's twentieth novel and I have read and enjoyed most of them. That doesn't mean there are some I haven't enjoyed - just that I haven't quite read them all! Congratulations Heidi on such a wonderful achievement. I was reading this over the Easter weekend and it certainly brought the sunshine to a dull and chilly few days here in Edinburgh.
