Okay so it turns out there’s a bonus for carrying a save over from PD Zwei to Saga. So I’m going for that one first. I played the first one on PC a bit as a kid and finished it earlier this year, and only ever played a couple minutes of this one.

First impressions are solid! There’s a lot of cool 90s cg employed in a lengthy and engaging opening. The battle system intrigues me, it feels almost on the way to the FFXIII system with ATB segments that get spent to do different things. The use of the cursor makes the environments very interactive

Finished Beyond Oasis. It's real good! A little bit shorter than I expected, but that's by no means a downside.

I started my Beyond Oasis file over because I felt like I wasn't looking around the game enough . I was right, because I was ready to say this game had little to do other than fight, I found this cool minigame where you race your fire buddy around a track using his dash attack. It's really cool!

Racing the fire spirit Efreet around a track under time pressure. The challenge is in using his dash attack to maneuver him quickly through the narrow paths. It's a cool challenge that takes good advantage of his ability.

Beyond Oasis remains great. The game is getting a lot more interesting and a lot harder with the introduction of the spirits and further dungeons.

Traversing a dungeon while the buff fire spirit Efreet helps fight some zombies.

Gameplay wise it's already super fun right out of the gate. The combat is a ton better than most 90s adventure games of this style. You have so many moves that feel so good to execute.

Time to get started on a backlog entry. Beyond Oasis (or The Story of Thor if you're on the other side of the Atlantic) I'm really enjoying this one right out of the gate. The opening cutscenes show off some really breathtaking graphics.
