I didn’t even expect for it to turn out that way, one day she just knew the questions to ask and things to say. I think it was obvious especially since I started making more mistakes than usual and she had to talk to me about them

Thinking about how my manager left and her office was one of my safe spaces when I was pretending to be okay. She would let me sit there with the door closed and cry until I was ready to start my shift. She just sat there with me. Asked no questions other than “can I hug you?”
