As an Australian, I was crying happy tears when I found out Dutton not only lost the election but also lost his seat. I’m glad we stood together to protect our rights.

7/ So honestly, why would you vote for Peter Dutton? Cuts, cruelty, and corporate power? When you can vote for The Greens who lead with care, equality, and a future worth fighting for! #VoteGreens #DuttonOut #AusPol

Firstly I don’t use those words to describe people because they’re ableist and discriminatory. Secondly, there’s a great moral divide on what he did so don’t be too quick to judge, especially because you don’t know me at all.

I got asked today if I’ll still have an anaphylactic reaction if it’s on Christmas Day. Yes. I will have to call an ambulance, spend Christmas in hospital and potentially die. I don’t get to choose when I’m anaphylactic 😂

This 100000%! I’m privileged enough that I’m able to share my diagnosis but it’s incredibly concerning that so many people don’t understand how harmful it is in countries who don’t have the same disability discrimination laws. It’s not an exaggeration to say it could be a death sentence.

Emmargh @emmargh.bsky.social · 10/12/2024
3/ But the most concerning thing is schools who boast about inclusivity when there are educators actively discriminating against these students. The answer is mandatory and funded professional development.

Emmargh @emmargh.bsky.social · 10/12/2024
2/I want to point out, there are some absolutely incredible schools who support disabled students in the way they deserve and the way they’re entitled to under education and disability law. This support removes barriers.

Emmargh @emmargh.bsky.social · 10/12/2024
1/ We need better laws around supporting disabled students in schools. Yes, there’s disability inclusion profiles, bsps and ieps, but, it’s often on the parents to relentlessly advocate for these supports to be created and them actually being used consistently requires more advocating.

6/6 New migration laws focus on efficiency but raise concerns about human rights. Detention restrictions and deportation processes must respect dignity and safety, ensuring Australia upholds its international obligations. #MigrationReform #HumanRights
