Trinity College, nestled in the heart of Dublin, has always been a home to secrets. When six students are drawn together by forces beyond their understanding, they stumble into a world of arcane magic, seductive power, and blood bargains. One fateful night on a cliffside binds them to a secret they can’t escape—and awakens something ancient that should have stayed buried.

Lacy
THE DAY AFTER

There was still blood underneath her fingernails. Lacy had scrubbed her hands raw under scalding hot water over and over and still, there it was. Taunting her. It wasn’t the first time they had been stained red. She felt with a sickening certainty that it wouldn’t be the last.
Maybe it would get easier. Maybe, one day, she’d be able to stomach it. Maybe there was some kind of trick to it all– killing somebody and pretending like you hadn’t. Lacy dug into her nail bed desperately, which only wedged the dried flakes of blood even deeper. She sighed, exasperated, resting a hand on either side of the sink. The bathroom mirror loomed menacingly in front of her. The urge to break it, to smash it to pieces, was overwhelming. She didn’t want to catch a glimpse of that detached, remote look she knew was all over her face. Her haunted eyes. The doubt. How could she hide it? How could any of them?
The freezing cold porcelain bit into Lacy’s palms as she tried to steady herself. Her head spun round and round, struggling to piece together the events of the night. There was too much to sort through. It had all happened too fast.
She could still smell the smoke, feel the howling wind, see that sickening drop over the cliff. The screams rattled in her ears even now. And the bleeding. It wouldn’t stop no matter how hard she tried to stem it. She used her shirt at one point to soak it up. Someone had taken it from her. The white button down had been a gift from her mother. Would they burn it? She hadn’t asked. Hadn’t thought to. She’d been staring at the body. The fallen dagger on the ground next to it, the blade glinting in the moonlight. How the blood turned the soil beneath them a thick, inky black.
She remembered saying, I tried.
