Bluesky’s ai just flagged my last painting as sexual content even though it is not. Getting away from instagram’s sexist and biased content violations is the main reason I’m in this platform. If this continues to happen I will not stay. #supportwomenartists

Women like Chappell roam dressing in drag-inspired fashion is interesting because it parallels the tendency of regular women’s fashion to be modeled for the male gaze - women anticipating what the patriarchal society will like, and therefore creating a performative femininity. (1/2)

A conventionally attractive woman is painted in loose but realistic brushstrokes in warm earth tones. She wears white panties and sheer knee high socks, walking in front of a rocky outcrop with a basket. Her auburn hair is in braids with white ribbon intertwined and there is also a ribbon on her basket.
