That's not really how matches look at all if you watch high level tournaments. It doesn't make sense to me to evaluate the quality of the game as a fighter, based on a single player run. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L5a...

And it's almost always the US commentators that do this, like they don't even care.

000

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

I'm going to keep mentioning it, but to the commentators at the National Bank tennis open (and most other tennis tournaments/events), LEARN how to pronounce the names of the players properly! There is no excuse if you commentate the same players every tournament. Russian/Czech names always butchered

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

Why does there not seem to be some minimalist training stage in Marvel Tokon? I'm pretty sure just removing those laggy backgrounds will fix a lot of problems for players.

Mena has a relatively easy match but after that it will get hard for him if Moke beats DualKevin, since Mena has had trouble with Moke in the past. Kobayan is a beast and should never be counted out, guy probably has the best reads in SF6.

Top 16 EWC matches have been decided for tomorrow: Group A Booce vs Tokido Hinao vs Hibiki Moke vs DualKevin Lexx vs Mena Group B Kobayan vs Nephew Micky vs Yamaguchi Gachikun vs Higuchi Craime vs Lesha My prediction is that the winner of Hinao vs Hibiki probably wins the tournament, Kobayan too

I really want to play Katara in Avatar Legends but I've been labbing her combos for a few days now and making slow progress. She has got to be one of the highest execution characters in the game and this just isn't looking feasible anymore. Need to find an easier character that I resonate with.

While I agree there are big problems with SF6, there is something that really bothers me about Avatar Legends and that is that anti-airing is very weak. I hope they add some upper body invincibility for some attacks.

Lots of fighting games taught me different things. For me, Persona 4 Arena taught me to instant block habitually and it's become second nature. I now apply this every game that has instant block, like Blazblue, Kof15, COTW and GBVSR. For some games the benefit isn't even much, but everything helps.

KGP is on, a big Japanese event featuring MANY fighting games at high level, some of them pretty obscure. A note about the schedule, it says the channels are kgpch01, 02, etc but there should be an underscore before the ch. So, it's actually kgp_ch01, etc.

You know, I kind of missed the days when companies would just drop new characters out of nowhere, with little to no advertisement and just let the players figure it all out when they release. BBTag did that with their season 2 DLC and I think I'd prefer that instead of trailers and then waiting.

000

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

I'm still not sure what the new tiers are after the balance patch for Kof15. The consensus when I ask the community is that they are waiting to see Xiaohai and M's teams because you know those have to be top tier.

I haven't really followed anime in a long time, but this Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games might be just what I needed. It's really not what I expected it would be like but I love it.

000

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

I didn't say it makes you do that, but it can contribute to not being able to read the room, to recognize if a joke is appropriate and predict how others will react. And also, autism affects different people in different ways. He explained his struggles with it in his apology post.

100

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

Did you see the comments that were being made by the people around him? This was the environment he was in where people were regularly making inappropriate sexual comments in the workplace. That is the point I'm trying to make. Obviously no one should be saying these things.

210

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

He made some ill-advised comments, but I think the narrative is also misleading. That is why I'm "defending" him. I recommend checking out the videos to see the context around him. I don't think his "can't breath" comment was racist. Rather, it was offensive and insensitive, didn't read the room.

110

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

What do you want from him exactly? He stayed out of the spotlight for 6 years after that incident, just working on games.

110

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

He said some dumb things, he's an awkward person apparently. Boycotting an entire game that many people worked very hard on because of one person who works in that company (who actually did a good job with the game apparently) seems ridiculous.

110

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

What misinformation is that? Can you post in the comments of his video and tell him what that misinformation is, so he can correct his video?

010

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

Well like I said, a number of people in his circle at work were making sexually inappropriate comments on a regular basis. The narrative makes it sound like it was only him, so it's not fair to call him a sex pest in that regard. As for his George Floyd comment, it was ill advised sure

330

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

I think it's also important to mention that he is autistic, that he apologized for what happened in a long post, and that he stayed silent working on games afterwards.

840

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

So "numerous instances of sexual inappropriate" comments were being made on a regular basis by his coworkers/friends as well. This is well documented in the lawsuit and explained in this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZzY...

The evidence shows that multiple people in the workplace were making inappropriate sexual comments(including the people that sued him). The narrative makes it sound like he was the only one making them, that he was the sex pest. A lot of people are really misinformed about the situation.

110

Emilkof @emilkof.bsky.social · 13/07/2026

I don't think it's a believable mistake. Yes, many people don't know the connection between SNK and the Saudis, and it's possible they didn't know as well, initially. But before agreeing to a sponsorship deal with a company, I find it hard to believe they wouldn't do basic research about them.
