They’ve got the golden egg factory shut down like a ship in harbour.
One of the SoftBank CEO’s golden goose powerpoint slides.
There is an AI image of a goose with a golden factory visible inside it like those old cross-section books. A conveyor belt is bringing golden eggs out of the factory to sit under the text.
The text reads: “The True Source of Value / Golden Egg factory inside the goose / What you see are the eggs / What produces them is the factory itself

Here's a full-year one from 2025 www.xweather.com/annual-light...
A map of the world with lighting strike incidents indicated with a heatmap. It ranges from 0 per square kilometre to 256+. The highest-intensity region is in the US to the north of the Gulf of Mexico. Large parts of Brazil, the DRC and Indonesia also have high intensities, but not as widespread.

An edit of xkcd comic #2501, Average Familiarity.
Two stick figures are speaking. There is a caption below them.
Stick Woman: "NDP is second-nature to us nerds, so it's easy to forget that the average person probably only knows Avi, Heather and Ashton."
Stick Man: "And Yves, of course."
Stick Woman: "Of course."
Bottom Caption: Even when they're trying to compensate for it, experts in anything wildly overestimate the average person's familiarity with their field.

Changing up the way you write, but only a little bit, is cowardly. Go all the way. Here’s my favourite passage from Das Kapital transcribed with a slightly-modified version of the Traditional Mongolian Script.
A picture of a sheet of printer paper (Letter). It is entirely filled with Traditional Mongolian Script.
I cannot transcribe it here—I used a few made-up letters to make up for the missing sounds when transliterating German into that script.
It is the passage about capital being vampire-like dead labour, from Chapter 10.

The diagram used to explain the Christian Trinity—a triangle with text bubbles at each point, as well as one in the middle. Along the outside, the edges say "Is Not" while the lines heading to the middle bubble say "Is".

This version says: King Charles of England Is Not King Charles Of Canada Is Not King Charles of Australia, with "is the same old fuck who thinks he's better than you" written in the middle.

Marx said that they are isolated from each other and *incorporated into Capital*
Screenshot from Chapter 11 of the North & Reitter translation of Capital:

“As independent persons, the workers are isolated persons. They enter into a relation with the capitalist but not with one another. They begin to cooperate only in the labor process, but by then, they have already ceased to belong to themselves. The moment they enter that process, they are incorporated into capital. As cooperating people, as parts of a laboring organism, they are merely one of capital’s particular modes of existence. The productive power that a worker develops when he performs social labor is therefore capital’s productive power. Labor’s’ social productive power develops without additional pay wherever workers are made to operate under the right conditions, and it is capital that has them operate under those conditions. Because labor’s social productive power doesn’t cost capital a thing, and also because the worker doesn’t start to develop such productive power until capital owns his labor, this power presents itself as belonging to capital by nature, as inherent in capital.”

And he doubles down on it!
A screenshot of a reply I made to someone else in a Stancil thread, and Will's reply to me.

Me:

"Stancil is saying that you can't predict historical things in general, though he keeps moving the goalposts and jumping around, so it's a bit difficult to trace his argument to the start.

He believes plane crashes are unpredictable because you can't say exactly which people will die."

Willy Boy:

"No, I'm saying that it matters which people die, and since you can't predict that, history is unpredictable"

How does that affect what I said in the reply you *didn't* quote-tweet (see attached image)? Are you claiming that statistics doesn't work for anything that isn't completely independent? Also, stop jumping around between replies, quote-tweets and vagueposts. It's annoying.
A portion of my previous reply to Will.

"Marxism isn't about predicting the result of a specific roll; it's about the overall distribution of those results."

Émilie @emiliecote.ca · 20/04/2025
Sure. Here's my textbook. To paraphrase, the specific outcome isn't predictable, but the overall trends are. As for things being linked, that only matters in your incredibly zoomed-in example. Trying to construct a chain of causality is of course dependent, but overall trends are less so.
A screenshot of my statistics textbook.

Probability
Probability is a mathematical tool used to study randomness. It deals with the chance (the likelihood) of an event occurring. For example, if you toss a fair coin four times, the outcomes may not be two heads and two tails. However, if you toss the same coin 4,000 times, the outcomes will be close to half heads and half tails. The expected theoretical probability of
heads in any one toss is 12 or 0.5. Even though the outcomes of a few repetitions are uncertain, there is a regular pattern of outcomes when there are many repetitions. After reading about the English statistician Karl Pearson who tossed a coin 24,000 times with a result of 12,012 heads, one of the authors tossed a coin 2,000 times. The results were 996 heads. The fraction 996/2000 is equal to 0.498 which is very close to 0.5, the expected probability.

The theory of probability began with the study of games of chance such as poker. Predictions take the form of probabilities. To predict the likelihood of an earthquake, of rain, or whether you will get an A in this course, we use probabilities. Doctors use probability to determine the chance of a vaccination causing the disease the vaccination is supposed to prevent. A stockbroker uses probability to determine the rate of return on a client's investments. You might use probability to decide to buy a lottery ticket or not. In your study of statistics, you will use the power of mathematics through probability calculations to analyze and interpret your data.

In between these two posts, he revealed that he sleeps next to the litter box (I assume his wife has the bath mat to remove litter from her feet). i.redd.it/z32p47a4frre...
An image of the bedroom of the man being discussed. Apart from a small bathroom mat, the plastic hardwood floor is bare. The comforterless bed has a nightstand and a security camera on one side, and a cat tree and litter box on the other. The cats’ food and water bowls are alarmingly close to the litter box. The end of the room the picture was taken from has another cat tree.

Their About Me section states that they have experience in web development and photography, and are strongly pro-copyright.

In their info box on the right, they say that they are from Canada, in the Pacific time zone, and that their IQ is "Mensa-eligible".

They have a list of userboxes below their About Me:
"Beware! This user is a known talk page stalker."
"This user supports the Canadian Crown."
"This user supports the Conservative Party of Canada."
"This user supports the British Columbia Liberal Party."
"This user believes that evolution doesn't have to conflict with Christianity."
"This user believes in restoring the monarchy of China."
And a couple more boxes that are not interesting.

What the fuck is up with meme pages? Despite having "Reject Apartheid" in their description, like half of their posts are pro-Rhodesia. I'd be offended that this had been suggested if like half of Facebook's suggestions weren't already random boomer and/or bigoted shit.

Fun fact: I'm an old fart when it comes to some aspects of technology. I don't like streaming because it gives me less control over my music. I say this because... I have itunes data for music I listen to. Though the date added is wrong—that's the day I fucked up with the library file.

Odd interaction on the other site. Someone opposed nuclear power on the grounds that it requires mining. I pointed out that most renewable energy requires mining. I am apparently a mining shill because of this, and they blocked me when I asked how they intend to transition from fossil fuels.
A quote tweet of a reply, as well as a reply to the quote tweet.
I initially said: "What energy source with no mining required do you propose? Per unit of energy, nuclear power actually requires less mined material than wind or solar. This can be lowered even further by reusing spent fuel."

YQR Action! quote-tweeted: "Uh oh we've kicked the mining lobbyist hornets nest"

I replied: "Should we just keep on using fossil fuels, then? 80% of Saskatchewan's energy comes from that. 90% of Alberta's. I think that's bad. Because of the metals required, alternative energy sources necessitate mining. How do you propose we transition from fossil fuels without mining?
