This is Nyx

A photo of Nyx a black cat with green eyes. There is a tiny white spot on her back, and if you zoom in enough you may see constellations of white hairs sprinkled through her fur.

My first novel, Heir of the Bindings: Elderkin Chronicles Volume I, is now available as an ebook. A paperback edition will arrive soon. For more information, visit www.superiormagpiepress.com. For links to book sellers visit www.books2read.com/HeirOfTheBin...

Cover of Heir of the Bindings. A parchment background with antique lettering in black except the title which is blue. The main image is the winged Sphinx of Naxos, as modeled by a souvenir figurine.

Elsewhere across the multiverse… Young Prince Franz-Karl is the younger son of the younger son of an Emperor. He is also an Elderkin, descended from Manifest Beings who may be Gods or Demons or merely Outsiders, depending on which philosopher or preacher or politician you ask.
In our world the Holy Roman Empire was famously neither Holy, nor Roman, nor an Empire, and the turn of the 18th century was a time of upheaval and transformation, life and death, faith and betrayal. Franz-Karl’s home is not as different from all that as he might prefer, even before you consider the Binding effects of meddling by the Manifest and their Elderkin descendants.
Survival and freedom are not guaranteed, even for an Emperor’s grandson. After reports arrive of his Father’s death, they may not even be an option.
When a clash at the funeral leads to a season of exile in his mother’s eldritch homeland, Franz-Karl’s expected future will be remade.
