Santa's sidekick? Or main character? He looks like he has "main character energy"...

Someone's just thrown a bottle of Omega 3 tablets at me. I only received super fish oil injuries, but still.

It's so quick and clever though that combined with my hearing issues I DEFINITELY needed those subtitles at first

Hamilton is a fab family watch if you have Disney+ and don't mind your child being exposed to swearing and brief references to sensitive topics in the opening number (rest of the first half at least is generally pure fun though)

2/2 The green feathery mass rose in the man's periphery, his breath catching as the DuoLife owl loomed towards him, eyes gleaming with judgement. “This year you made 184,937,382 mistakes.” This is what he had signed up for.

1/2 - NYE. The man lay in bed, beads of sweat forming as the clock ticked closer to midnight, marching towards the inevitable. Cheers of "Happy New Year!" echoed outside. This was soon drowned out by a whooshing sound as the ground swallowed itself to his right. Then it came...

Ha I'd be OK with that as use it daily for work. Ours is set in Classcharts app which is actually a really good app but the assignment often links off to other sites where the work itself is set. Benefit of digital is I can see what she's been set on the parents app and remind her.

Spent ages puzzling over a question that had stumped my 11-year-old in her maths homework, only to discover the problem hadn't loaded properly! A quick refresh of the page revealed the missing parts of the problem. The joys (and perils) of online homework! #Parenting #Homework #Maths #Math #EduSky

The lawfirm I was at previously have apparently blocked ChatGPT and developed their own internal AI LLM. It’s built on GPT tech but ring-fenced for privacy.

At my finance company, Cybersec experts vet any solutions that would involve sharing company data. We're allowed ChatGPT after training and promising to anonymise input, while Copilot (local Microsoft) is being tested. I tried NotebookLM with a PDF of public info from online as a safe test for fun 😊

I can imagine in the near future we would be able to choose your "actor" voices, their language, include more than 2 hosts to generate a virtual panel with differing points of view, and edit text script with prompts to tweak what they say and the tone they use when they say it.

100 1

Emily Gallichan @emgall.bsky.social · 23/11/2024

I tried NotebookLM earlier. It took a dense, dry technical PDF about updates to tax law and used AI to generate a fairly believable, engaging discussion between two AI "actors". They managed to bring what was a really dull topic (sorry tax friends!) to life. #LearningandDevelopment #LnD #LearnTech

I think we all aim for that, but the challenge is L&D teams are often expected to stay tiny while managing high volumes of diverse demands. Stakeholders expect advanced expertise, leaving us like firefighters tackling the biggest blazes with less strategy and thought than we would like.

I disagree. It depends on the purpose. Some learning builds mental capability or shifts mindsets without leading to trackable behaviour change. Even when not the case, learners may not feel ready or have the chance to apply learning via behaviour. It doesn't mean learning did not intrinsically occur

Emily Gallichan @emgall.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

Ooooh data relating to learning...and so PRETTY! 😍

010 1

Emily Gallichan @emgall.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

Enjoy the snow! I'd be interested in learning more on the above integration. It'd be useful to be able chat to AI about projects without having to provide screenshots & explanations to give it context. Can it also automate tasks? Has Articulate allowed that? Or is that just "Bluesky" thinking?

Yes. I believe it was a firing range used in the occupation of the island. There's something rather sinister yet alluring about it. But just a little scramble down the way there's remnants of an old neolithic settlement at the grassy base of a huge cragg so the historic ambience balances out 😊

Yeah plenty of skeets on these streets... the word feels oddly retro somehow. 'Tweet' I could get behind because it reminded me of 'twittering,' so chatting into the void...but 'skittering' just doesn’t work the same...
