Looking forward to them getting round to some of his other bangers, including: “The king must die so that the country can live.” and “A true revolutionary should be ready to perish in the process”

And yet the 2008 financial crisis was already close to four years old by that point, austerity was well underway and the PM who would eventually crash the UK out of the EU was already in Downing St. The writing, as they say, was already on the wall.

Morally, someone's always accountable - either you took the decision yourself or you knowingly allowed a robot to make the decision the decision for you. Killer robots don't just deploy themselves. A human being is always at the end of the decision-making chain, whether they like it or not.

None of what is described here is very obviously different from the conduct of hardcore climate or animal rights activists, none of whom are dealt with by way of terrorism legislation.

Plenty of criminal law exists to deal with groups who commit criminal damage. You don't have to use terrorism laws.

Counterpoint: they went to a public event and were recognized. Absent the giant videotron, it's the stuff of de Laclos or Henry James, not Orwell.

I don't know what the symbols of Palestinian Action are but I'm guessing the Palestinian flag probably plays a big part. Did the Home Office really intend to criminalise displaying the flag at protests?

The UK constitution, too, is badly signposted, filled with strange relics and useless appendages, and has several pubs that only those who work there know about.

"A cabbie told me 'London is dead most nights' unless you are the global high net worth set or top 1%" This is how cabbies often talk in London. If you tip them extra, though, they will take you to party with the global high net worth set. Then you're sorted.

I don't know but maybe the best way to 'restore public confidence' in human rights would be for politicians not to trash them at every opportunity, rather than spout useless talking points about 'reform'...

Sooner or later a desperate party is going to use an LLM to generate an actual fake judgement to support their fake citation and the whole degenerate cycle will begin anew. Most will be easy to spot but eventually someone will manage to produce a plausible fake.
