As someone who did speedrun RE2 at the time I strongly agree with you, i loved that depth. But in RE4 (2004) there was still a looot of depth in movement and positionning. Zombies had radius triggers to play with… it was still a game of placement. But i felt it was almost inexistant in the remake…

I know I'm pretty late to the party on finishing it, but Cairn by @thegamebakers.com is going to be in serious consideration for my Game of the Year. Absolutely superb story which could not be told in a non interactive medium with the same impact.

I usually hate stealth as a game mechanic, when it means not being "seen" by NPCs. It's usually punishing and often feels unfair. But here it's interesting since not about staying unseen. It's more like "1-2-3 sun" (redlight/greenlight) and you have to be behind a wall to be safe.

I'm enjoying Resonance: a plague tale legacy a lot. Sophia is a very likable character and the game is well executed. It's a classic adventure game (story x combat x puzzles with a bit of platforming) but there is also some kind of "stealth" with the "creature" and it's surprisingly original-good.

I went to see The Odyssey at the only IMAX 70mm theater in France (in Montpellier) and oh boy… i’ve seen better 480p screener mp4. What a terrible experience. Room too small for the screen, washed up colors, tiny transparent subtitles, sides of the screen flickering, bad audio. The seats were ok.

Another strong hit for French cinema: "De la comedie Française". Extremely fun, well written, actors are fantastic. It's like "The Studio" (the seth rogen tv show) but for French plays instead of hollywood. In the theaters right now (in France).

Simple rule about sequels: - if the first game was a success and has a huge median playtime: sequel will be commercially viable. - if the first game was a success and has a short median playtime (i.e. the success was mostly "conceptual" / because the game was surprising), the sequel will not sell.
