iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

It's not all that different tbh, been having this experience with general creative writing as well.

EmBani @embani.bsky.social · 24/04/2026

Idk how many people here follow me based on my yt videos but while being an animator is certainly an extenuating circumstance the honest truth about why I haven't made any since 2020 is that I've kind of just lost my self-esteem as a writer and don't really know how to get it back.

I mean not that I could or even want to tell people what to think but Adventure being an experiment of early 3D gaming isn't comparable Frontiers being a graveyard of leftovers justified after the fact. There's underdeveloped and then there's barely even having an idea for a game.

Even if you like it (there are things about it I like) you can't deny it's the product of a team spread exhaustively thin working backwards from limited resources that, I would argue, doesn't know what they're even trying to accomplish.

Assuming all goes well, I don't think people are prepared for how much the next Sonic game is going to put into perspective just what a sorry excuse for a game Frontiers is.

Had a pretty rough last week but the response to this definitely ended it on a positive note. I definitely don’t say it enough but I appreciate y’all!

I'm not under the falsehood this character is unproblematic but you're placing far too much significance on a singular fan animation of a videogame character of ultimately modest popularity, leave me alone.

Went off memory for this one! I did another one of these a couple years ago which I looked at a bunch of reference for.

I never finished the 2nd season but I did like it, wish it retained more of the Uesugi-esque art direction from the ops though.

Idk if this is a hot take but Watanabe directing Disney Channel Original: the Anime is an insane creative left hook.

What really gets me about SxSG is how easy it would've been for them to just phone it in. It for all intents and purposes purely exists to promote Sonic Movie 3. No one would've batted an eye at this being a low effort cash grab because we all at first just expected Episode Shadow part 2.
