I’m flipping through my first Little Golden book, Sammie is zoek! (Sammie is missing!) which marks a decade since its release. This one is special as its my debut as an author/ illustrator. I drew inspiration from midcentury LGB artists hoping I’ve honored their legacy. @andreabrownlit.bsky.social

Hard to believe it's been 25+ years of illustrating! Time goes by like nothing. Fellow artists know you create a lot and don't always remember every piece. But this album cover stands out as was one of the first I was asked to design and illustrate. @andreabrownlit.bsky.social @ksonnack.bsky.social

I recently finished working on this cover for a new picturebook I am illustrating. Guess who’s it about? Written by Mark Haayema and publisher Rubinstein. Part of the ‘Golden Bible Stories’. At this moment I am working on the inside illustrations. @ksonnack.bsky.social @andreabrownlit.bsky.social

Another Daantje Dirigentje finished illustrating. Nr5 in the series. Eventhough it is quite a task to make sure all instruments are depicted correctly it is a lot of fun working on this little character. And this time I added some nice outdoor shots to the book. #illustration #kidlit #picturebook

Here are some illustrations I worked on for my commission with yearbookmachine. I'm really proud of how these turned out and I'm grateful for the trust that the lovely people at YBM placed in me to try something new. #illustration #limitedpalette #illustrator

I just made a reel on insta featuring my studio/ workspace at Haarlem station in the Netherlands. I had to crop it a bit for Bluesky to still show the text. A real joy to be able to work here everyday! #studio #illustration #kidlitillustration @ksonnack.bsky.social @andreabrownlit.bsky.social

Loved working on this Lp albumcover for dutch jazzband extraordinaire New Cool Collective on the Doxlabel. This album features the Bigband playing some of their classics. The band gave me complete freedom to come up with this. Always a thrill to work for these guys! What a band. #illustration #jazz

Burning the midnight lamp once again: though the end of this project is in sight. There are worse places to work overtime! Mine is here! An old signpost house inside a trainstation! Sometimes noisy but lots of ambience. I’m curious to see other creatives workspaces! Where do you all work?

Went to see the Brutalist yesterday. Eventhough it had beautiful images and colors. The dialogues and script kept me thinking: well this all feels kind of strange but im sure at the end it will be clear and make sense. Unfortunately that really doesnt happen. Such a bummer. #brutalist #moviereview

I don’t understand Musk isnt getting arrested for unlawfully gaining acces to those files and records. He hasn’t been appointed officially as a government offical is he? What makes him different from any other us citizen at this point? (I mean in legal terms. I know he’s rich and friends with trump)

Im seeing quite some pretty forward remarks regarding all that’s happening with and in the new US government and rightly so imo. Just wondering if its the same offline in the USA? Is there protest plans? Are people gathering to discuss? Do people feel free to speak their mind as they do here?
