I finished reading Brigands & Breadknives by Travis Baldree last night. I enjoyed it, but I’d also read T. Kingfisher’s Swortheart and her four Saint of Steel books since reading Bookshops & Bonedust, so there were a few random moments I forgot which universe I was in. 😅

Husband got his bonus deposited this week. Thursday night, the freezer portion of the fridge stopped freezing. (Soupy ice cream ☹️) Yesterday we did the math—fridge is 10.5 years old! Decided it’d be more effective to just buy a new one. Delivery is Wednesday. Here’s hoping the fridge lasts til then.

He was exceedingly proud of himself. Normally, we’re not worried about rabies in what he chases, but there’s been sort of a lot of positive cases in RI this spring, and there was a positive case with a groundhog announced just last week.

Last year, I bought a bunch of these stretched cross stitch fabric things because I‘d stumbled across them in a clearance bin. I drew this pattern out on graph paper on May 20th. Stitched it Saturday night through this morning. I haven’t even seen the episode the quote is from. 😅

So, I don’t know how many people might be from around Smithfield, RI, but a little community boost for our libraries would be much appreciated. It has been a couple years without a budget increase from the town, and Greenville lost its Sunday hours when that happened the first time.

The East Smithfield and Greenville Public Libraries are requesting a 3% budget increase in the 2027 town budget.
Costs for utilities, supplies, building maintenance, snow removal, and other expenses have increased.

Without additional funding, the libraries may need to reduce programs, services, or hours.

Please support continued funding so residents can keep enjoying the library services they value.

Heeeey. 👋🏻 I finally framed a cross stitch piece last night! It’s fairly simple, but it makes me happy. After stitching it, I also painted the frame (metallic “rich espresso”) because the only round frame I could find that’d be large enough was greige. Greige does not belong near a hobbit hole.

Forgot to update: Out of the 6 I finished, 3 have sold (photo taken an hour before the 3rd sold), and I’m still making more. Yay raising money for the library and slightly denting my yarn stash at the same time! (Also those ribbons have been stashed for a good decade+ 😅)
