Had to take dad to hospital for a few days mid week and when the attending doctor came in for rounds he noticed the books we were reading, had read them himself, and we all proceeded to geek out together over books. A very pleasant divergence from reality.

i suppose i should give update on TXLA (texas library association) situation after they rescinded their invitation over my physical presentation. when story blew up they immediately apologized and reinvited me, i said 'no thank you this year but next year would be great.' there was a reason for this

I have that same internal dialogue. I have to keep asking myself would I expect anyone else in my same situation to do extra? And that helps for a good 30min to an hour before I have to ask again lol
