That sounds really good, I'll have to give it a try the next time I need an afternoon pick-up.

Mikey Day had me rolling with laughter with his Link performance! Acting was certainly stronger than the writing on that one.

Due to regulations, energy drinks have lower levels of caffeine where I live. I think 180 is the maximum allowed. Alani Nu in the US are 200mg and the same flavour will be 140mg in Canada.

I'm an Alani Nu fan as well! I've never been a coffee drinker or heavy caffeine user so I try not to have it too often... But it's tempting because they taste like candy.

Sometimes it can take me weeks to make any progress with reading a book, but when I get in that 20-10% left range it's all I can think about. Work will be a challenge today.

Ruby had her game face on for a round of laundry basket jail last night. Those eyes say "you can trust me", but the teeth and claws lie in wait for unsuspecting fingers.

It may have taken me a week to get to it, but I finally put my laundry away. I'll take that as a win.

Got back to Life is Strange after playing chapter 1 back in the spring. I don't always have 2-3 hours to commit to a chapter, but it's so good, it's worth making the time for it.

Also... - no laundry - no driving - no weigh ins - no computer - almost no time to doom scroll I'm exhausted but so happy for the opportunity to travel

9 days of... - new foods - drinks on patios - sunshine/+26° - trying to communicate in a language I barely know - discovering two new cities and two new metros - observing art and architecture - daily naps - lots of time to be with and talk to my partner - socializing with strangers in bars

I feel like the average person is sadly under-educated when it comes to cheese. I recently heard a woman ask for white cheese in her omelette, and when the server asked her "what kind? Edam, or..." She interjected with "WHITE cheese. Queso Blanco!"

Decided to lock in and finish the final 3 chapters of Yakuza 0 tonight. Glad tomorrow is a day off, my hands need a recovery day. The steam deck is great, but it's a bit big and heavy for such long play.

I watched this way back when I was first exploring anime beyond what was available on tv after school. I wish I remembered more about it, but I recall having a generally good impression of it.

Yeah, I can tell you if my subscription wasn't provided through work, I wouldn't be paying for one. There are so many alternatives now that most people are no longer locked into their ecosystem. I was just telling a colleague about Affinity yesterday and she's going to save a ton of money.

I'm really tempted to finally try a Dyson. I live with a Ryobi collector, so we have now had two Ryobi stick vacs, both of which don't suck well.

My dad bought his first stick vac last year. Nothing as fancy as a laser guided Dyson, but it has a headlight. He is very distraught by the amount of dirt it shows him.

elHEXandra @elyxandra.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

I don't tend to put holds on super recent books, so typically anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks for a physical copy to be delivered to my local pick-up locker. Hoopla/cloud library holds have been a day to a week wait. I was recently surprised when a book with a 2 week wait was ready the next day!

It was a really sweet story on top of the fun gameplay. The Switch release was extra cute. Link's little flippers while swimming got me every time! It has no right to be so adorable 😍

After 20+ hours, and 18 deaths, I finally beat Link's Awakening on Switch. I initially gave up after struggling with the first dungeon boss. Glad I returned. Beautiful game that was a lot of fun. Happy to have cleared it from the backlog.

I'm down to the final 1/4 (or less) of 3 separate video games. I'd really like to wrap them all up, but the summer has been highly social, and this weekend is no different. I think I have to put these in my calendar to give myself a chance of making time for them.
