I was just pointing out a couple of days on here that this is the LOWEST HANGING FRUIT of low hanging fruit for Democrats to promise if they take control of Congress. RAISE THE FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE from $7.25. It has not risen since 2009. It's criminal.

I have to keep saying this. Trans rights are very unpopular on face but extremely sensitive to persuasion and question wording. In other words very few people care deeply about them, one way or another. Electorally, there is no advantage or penalty for Democrats to take one way or another.

Cis folks really don't understand what it's like to have who you are made into a political scape goat for 5 years straight with legislation targeting every aspect of your life. And then, the only political party that pretends to care is slowly being pushed to abandon you as a political albatross.

Sometimes you have to choose the lesser of two evils? I suppose. But that suggests that sometimes you don't have to. And we should expect to not have to. And we should keep criticizing those who force others into evil choices, until lesser evils are no longer the ones who decide about good & evil.

One of the things libs should have learned a long time ago is every time you concede anything to conservative framing, it becomes the new baseline consensus, with conservatives just moving the goalpost further to the right until libs end up arguing for the conservative position from a decade ago.

First, this would be evil even if its electoral rationale were true. It is not. Dems embracing open bigotry alienate supporters and conservatives still vote for Republicans. We had a massive example of Dems doing exactly this strategy in 2024. It failed badly, at federal and state levels...

I try not to go overboard on media criticism but I do think "the chief executive is openly trying to rig the legislative elections in his party's favor" should merit somewhat higher prominence relative to mundane normalcy horserace coverage.
