Is that not a ... Property Manager? Or must they own the property down there in the States? Up here, for a block of houses or apartments, usually the property management company starts off as the same company that built the places but owners can vote them out and hire 3rd party management.

Honestly valid. Lately it feels like most people are only "friends" for their own benefits; once they don't need you anymore, you're dropped like a used tissue and forgotten on the side of the road. I think, rather than trying to make friends, maybe let them prove they can be real friends instead :x

this one is especially egregious

A single panel comic hand drawn illustration of Barret Wallace from FF7 gesturing disgustedly to a screenshot from nvidia's atrocious DLSS 5 slop that leaked, showing a photo of what was once Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but is now a yassified Al model standing in a flatly lit Instagram environment. Barret's text box reads "We're killin' the planet for THIS shit?"

Wow. This year's Rising is unfair. As a lifelong fan of Final Fantasy and growing up playing from the first FF all the way to current day, this was such a meaningful and a beautiful surprise. Thanks Squaresoft(-Enix) and FF and all the staff who have contributed to this major part of my life <3

Please excuse the horrible lighting as I haven't cleaned up my desk yet after unboxing this and testing it out XD The missing buttons are mapped to another layer; e.g. pressing the layer toggle key turns my keyboard into this button mapping (down triangle = same as default/don't change)

Very very early days and I'm still relearning how to type on this after rearranging the keys a bit, but my first impressions are: my pinky doesn't have to cramp up trying to hold CTRL too long anymore and i don't have to reach as much in general for both typing and gaming. Very relaxed hands.

Kinesis has a couple (Freestyle line) that are or come close to full keys: kinesis-ergo.com/explore-keyb... ZSA Moonlander is still missing the Function keys but decently close to full size: www.zsa.io/moonlander ZSA more customizable but Kinesis is probably the closest to your prefs.

Addendum 5/4 :p The mini screens are cool but have extremely limited / low priority (to me) functions like displaying your current WPM or which key layer you're on (think car gear indicator), so I saved myself a 25 Euro and got mine without the screens instead.

A big recommendation I got from keebart's discord was "print this life sized template and simulate typing on it to see if you like it" before jumping into a purchase. Also this site was great for info as well: www.justinmklam.com/posts/2026/0... Hope that helps! :) 4/4

Elsten @elsten.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

Being able to map keys to my own preference lets me minimize the amount of relearning to type, as well as minimizing how much button remapping I would have to do in games. So purposely trading off some typing efficiency for better use case coverage & adaptability. 3/4

Elsten @elsten.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

My reasoning was: wired because I CBA to deal with batteries, especially soldered ones. This style is similar to a tenkeyless keyboard, but retains the number row which I can toggle on the fly to become Function keys when needed. Similarly, high use keys can be toggled/mapped as I like/need 2/?

Elsten @elsten.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

Big disclaimer first: this is where I bought mine from but there are many people (especially on Etsy) who sell the Sofle style I chose. www.keebart.com/products/sofle I bought from here because I didn't want to do the soldering/assembly myself and I liked that this one is fully enclosed ... 1/?

Elsten @elsten.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

I'm getting a split ergonomic kb to try and save my failing hands. Most users/proponents are using it only for typing and minimalize the heck out of it, but I'm trying one with more keys (Sofle) to accommodate gaming needs. Can let you know in a week or so if you'd be interested in that :)

I woke up with an orange sky today -- the whole world looked like I had tea-coloured sunglasses on. It's such a jarring difference when you go into an underground parking lot where the lighting it normal again. Fun side effect, it made work look like an absolute dungeon with old rotting walls lol

panel from witch hat atelier's manga, featuring a teacher telling his student:
"How nice. Your 'incomprehension' has developed. From 'I don't know what to do,' to 'I don't know how to do it.' That's huge progress, right? It's good to see."

Or maybe I should just give up and join the greed-driven, self-serving masses who can only ever find self-worth by trampling on those who are just trying their best to be a helpful friend. Some days it really hits home that this world just isn't worth living in anymore.

Alternatively, when should I draw the line, so I don't end up giving people another near-decade of blood, sweat, and tears only to be stabbed in the back and discarded yet again when I dare to try and speak up for myself?

I've always lived by the mantra that you should treat others as you would like to be treated. Unfortunately, this is proof that I have not kept up with the current time and age; these days reciprocity is well and truly dead. Now I just have to figure out, how do I trust people anymore?

Lesson learned; I'll just shut up and keep to my own little corner since all those endless hours of help and personal sacrifice weren't needed or appreciated. What was I thinking, to ask for just a little respect or to just be listened to ...
